There is no single path to becoming a puppetry artist.

Some begin with traditional puppetry, while others arrive through music, visual arts or theatre. Although their journeys are different, they share the same passion for storytelling and a curiosity to explore new possibilities through puppetry.

Rather than a formal lecture, this session is an open conversation between four young puppetry artists. Marcus Lim, Bright Ong, Alla Zhukova and Fish Lim Yun Xin will share their creative journeys, artistic influences, collaborations, challenges and hopes for the future of puppetry in Malaysia.

Whether you're an artist, student or simply curious about puppetry, pull up a chair, join the conversation and get to know the people behind the puppets.

Marcus Lim（林雲濠）

Artistic Director of Ombak POTEHI and Festival Director of the Penang Puppet Festival, Marcus is dedicated to preserving and reimagining traditional Potehi through performance, education and international collaboration.

林雲濠為破浪布袋戲藝術總監及檳城偶戲節策展人，長期投入布袋戲保存、創作、教育推廣及國際交流，致力於探索傳統偶戲在當代的新可能。

Bright Ong（王澤偉）

Bright Ong is a multidisciplinary performance-maker, director and puppetry creative whose work spans theatre, movement and diverse puppetry styles across Asia, Europe and Australia. He is passionate about creating contemporary Southeast Asian stories through puppetry and performance.

王澤偉為跨領域劇場創作者、導演及偶戲藝術家，長期活躍於亞洲、歐洲及澳洲劇場創作，持續透過偶戲發展具有東南亞文化視角的當代表演作品。

Alla Zhukova

Alla Zhukova is a theatre artist, puppet maker and designer based in Penang. Trained in theatre arts in Saint Petersburg, she specialises in puppet-making, stage props and visual storytelling, believing that puppetry brings stories, culture and imagination to life.

Alla Zhukova 為劇場藝術家、製偶師及舞台設計師，畢業於俄羅斯聖彼得堡劇場大學，現居檳城。她專注於製偶、舞台道具及視覺敘事創作，相信偶戲能讓故事、文化與想像力真正活起來。

Fish Lim Yun Xin（林韻心）

Fish Lim Yun Xin is a Malaysian puppetry artist, composer and sound designer whose work blends music, visual storytelling and contemporary puppetry. Her solo work Greyscape has been presented at George Town Festival and Bangkok Theatre Festival.

林韻心為馬來西亞偶戲創作者、作曲家及聲音設計師，創作結合音樂、視覺敘事及當代偶戲，其個人作品 《Greyscape》 曾於 George Town Festival 及 Bangkok Theatre Festival 演出。
