Ballet en Avant: Sleeping Beauty Act 2 and 3 Excerpts

Act 2 The Vision
A hundred years after the kingdom and Princess Aurora was put to sleep by Carabosse, the grounds of the palace have grown into a lush forest. Along comes Prince Desire with a melancholic royal yearning for purpose. Suddenly, the Lilac Fairy appears to Desire and shows him a vision of the sleeping princess. He is mystified by her beauty and falls in love. The Lilac Fairy calls on her forest elves to call forth the spirit of Aurora to dance for him. As the vision of Aurora disappears, Desire quickly determines to search for her and follows the Lilac Fairy to her room in the castle. 

Act 3 The Wedding
In a magnificent celebration, the castle is joyous at the wedding of Aurora and Desire. The Lilac Fairy summons the fairies to bring lavish gifts of silver and diamond and beloved fairytale friends are invited including Red Riding Hood and the Wolf as well as the White Cat and Puss in Boots. The court are then dazzled by Princess Florine and the Bluebird who perform a charming duet. Finally, Aurora and Desire dance together in an ethereal and romantic pas de deux, being married and blessed by theLilac Fairy in front of the whole kingdom.
