Ignite Theatre Young Company is a new auditioned performance company for emerging performers aged 18–25. Our first production will be Dennis Kelly’s DNA, performed first at an international school, followed by public performances at Damansara Performing Arts Centre in March 2027.

Ignite Theatre Young Company: DNA

Ignite Theatre is looking for the next generation of performers.

We are launching Ignite Theatre Young Company, a new auditioned performance company for emerging performers aged 18–25 who are ready to create bold, ambitious theatre for public audiences.

Our first production is Dennis Kelly’s DNA, a darkly funny and unsettling contemporary play about a group of young people who make a terrible decision and discover just how far they are willing to go to protect themselves.

Fast-paced and tense, DNA explores peer pressure, group behaviour, morality and responsibility. It offers an ensemble of young actors the opportunity to create complex characters and tell a story that shifts rapidly between humour, fear and cruelty.

Selected performers will become part of the ensemble for a fully produced staging of DNA, beginning with a performance at an international school before transferring to Damansara Performing Arts Centre (DPAC) for public performances in March 2027.

This is not a weekly drama class. Young Company is production-led. We are looking for performers who want to work as an ensemble, take direction, challenge themselves and commit to the demands of creating a high-quality production.

You do not need professional credits to apply. We are interested in potential, commitment, creativity and your ability to work generously as part of an ensemble.
