About
1. WINGS (Thailand)
Wings is a contemporary reinterpretation of the Southeast Asian folktale Phra Suthon–Manora, developed through movement, physical theatre, and visual storytelling. Inspired by the image of Manora as a bird-like being, the performance reimagines “wings” as a metaphor for freedom, identity, memory, and the body. Blending contemporary performance practices with fragments of Nora movement traditions from Southern Thailand, the work explores the tension between beauty and control, ritual and restriction, human desire and transformation. Using breath, repetition, soundscape, and ensemble physicality, Wings creates a dreamlike theatrical experience in which the body becomes both an archive and a battlefield. Rather than retelling the folktale literally, the performance invites audiences to reflect on the invisible forces that shape, discipline, and redefine human existence across cultures and generations.
2. MULIH (Brunei)
“In this waiting room, we say goodbye to everything.Forget all the memories that made us happy, sad, and everything inbetween.Let go of all questions and all defenses. In this waiting room, we come to visit—not to stay. After that, we return home."
3. RUMAH TUMPANG (Sarawak)
Behind her cheerful smile lies a deep, hidden trauma. Rumah Tumpang uncovers the painful memories of a child longing for love, caught in a devastating cycle of anger and overdue regret. This moving drama serves as a powerful reminder: a home should be a sanctuary, yet it can easily become the birthplace of a lifetime of wounds. Ultimately, it proves that when regret arrives too late, it can never heal what has already been broken.
