The Zapin Telok Belangah dance portrays the lives of the youth in the village of Telok Belangah in the old days. It was a peaceful and harmonious village, a historic place in Singapore where the Temenggong once resided. The graceful movements of the zapin reflect the refinement and manners of the Malay people. The dancers’ attire, the Telok Belangah baju kurung, completes and complements this zapin performance.
