International Dance Day 2026 organised by Faculty of Dance, ASWARA

The Faculty of Dance, ASWARA proudly presents a vibrant Dance Workshop Series in conjunction with International Dance Day, celebrated annually on 29th April. This special initiative aims to celebrate the diversity of dance, foster creative expression, and provide an immersive learning experience for participants of all backgrounds.

Led by talented Assistant Lecturers from the Faculty of Dance, the workshop series offers a dynamic range of styles that reflect both traditional and contemporary practices. Participants will have the opportunity to explore movement, technique, and cultural expression through guided sessions conducted by passionate and experienced instructors.

The lineup of workshops includes:

• Iqram – Contemporary Dance (Text Element)
• Nad Sukarno – Bollywood
• Nazrul – Terinai Che Sulung
• Claudia – Titikas (Sungai Ethnic Dance)
• Hilmi – Modern Dance (Urban Choreography)
• Xin Ping – Chinese Jazz Dance

Each session is thoughtfully designed to introduce participants to unique movement vocabularies while encouraging creativity, musicality, and cultural appreciation. From expressive contemporary techniques to energetic urban choreography and rich traditional forms, this workshop series reflects ASWARA’s commitment to nurturing versatile and globally-aware dancers.

26 APRIL 2026, SATURDAY

2:00pm - 3:30pm | SESSION I

3:30pm - 4:00pm | Break 

4:00pm - 5:30pm | SESSION II

• Hilmi – Modern Dance (Urban Choreography)
• Claudia – Titikas (Sungai Ethnic Dance)
• Xin Ping – Chinese Jazz Dance

Please be informed that the three dance workshops in SESSION 1 and SESSION 2 will be conducted at the same time or in a parallel session. Hence, you only can attend ONE (1) dance workshop for EACH SESSION. 

The venue for all dance workshops will be updated soon. 

Each participant will be given e-certificate as an appreciation and acknowledgment for participating the dance workshops.
