About
Sutra presents the world premiere of Radhe! Radhe!, The Sweet Surrender… an Odissi production themed on Radha, the favourite gopi and cherished beloved of Krishna.
This is another full night’s Odissi program inspired by the culture-rich Ganjam district of South Odisha, specifically by the folk form of Radha Prema Leela. The production will also draw inspiration from Patachitra, the indigenous painting tradition of South Odisha.
Guru Gajendra Panda and Datuk Ramli Ibrahim have been following the track of their mentors, the late Guru Debaprasad Das and scholar/painter Dr Dinanath Pathy, who frequently advised both Gajendra and Ramli to keep their classical innovations connected with the earthy energy of the folk traditions.
