Praised for having a "vibrant tenor tones and a steady introspective stage presence" (The Dramatic Art Society), Malaysian tenor Leonard Wong Zhi Duan is a rising voice in the classical and operatic scene both locally and internationally. He is a graduate of the Malaysian Institute of Art and is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Music with Honours at Universiti Putra Malaysia majoring in Vocal Performance.

After graduating from MIA, Leonard actively performed as a soloist and chorus member, appearing in major concerts, opera productions, and gala performances. He also had the opportunity to sing alongside international acclaimed artists such as Shila Amzah and Rimar Callista.

Leonard’s professional engagements include playing the role General Li Lei in Malaysian opera "Hang Li Po", Tamino in “The Magic Flute”, Chen Yen in Malaysian opera “Solace of Papan”, Page in “Amahl and the Night Visitors”, and Chorus in “La Traviata” and “Carmen”.

Leonard also held successful solo recitals, including the Leonard Wong Vocal Recital in 2023, and Voices of Wisdom Concert in 2024.

Leonard’s recent achievements include:
- 2nd Runner Up at the 46th Malaysia National Vocal Competition 2025, Central Malaysia Region, Men’s Category
- 1st Runner Up and Lieder Prize (Best Chinese Art Song) at the 6th Chin Yong Vocal Competition 2025
- Regional Finalist at the Voices in Bloom International Singing Competition 2025 KL and JB Region
- Finalist in The 12th International Vocal Open Competition 2025
- Top 8 in the 2024 Gold Star International Music Competition
- 2nd Runner Up at the World Voice and Choral Competition in 2023 

With a repertoire spanning opera, oratorio, and art song, Leonard continues to pursue artistic growth and aims to bring Malaysian classical vocal artistry to a broader international stage.

Leonard Wong Zhi Duan

Jocelyn is a soprano training under mezzo-soprano YiLing Chiang since 2020. She holds a high Distinction in Grade 8 classical vocal exam from Trinity College London.

Actively performing as a hobbyist, she sang in operas such as Bizet’s Carmen (2022), Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore (2023), Puccini’s La Bohème (2024) with the KL City Opera Chorus, where she also served as Soprano Section Lead (2023-2025). She was also in the chorus for Verdi’s La Traviata in a concertante production by MOV Asia Korea (2023), performing alongside the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra. 

She is currently an active member of Fiamma Opera Studio, where she performed in pocket opera of Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte as First Lady (2023), chorus in the MPYO at the Opera Concert (2025) by Malaysian Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, and was part of the Solace of Papan ‘Kinta Tin Ore’ chorus piece premiere at Embrace Timeless Adventure concert (2025) by PJPO. In early 2026 she revised the role of First Lady in Classical for Kids: Mozart’s The Magic Flute with the KLPAC Orchestra.

Her broader stage work includes musicals such as Bernstein’s West Side Story (2024) by Bentley Music Academy, Kapitan the musical (2025) by Opus Harmonia Association, concerts such as KLCO’s Voices of Children (2024), Tutan Entertainment’s Broadway & Beyond (2024), Symphonic Rock (2024) and Symphonic Rock 2.0 (2025). She also performed in various functions and events as chorus, backing vocals, soloist singing different genres such as classical and pop.

She also participated in the Italian international vocal competition The Song, co-organized by the Rossini Conservatory, where she earned 2nd place in both the Classical Solo (VII age) and Duet categories in 2021. In 2023, she competed in the Amadeus International Music Awards Salzburg, winning the Honour Prize in the Voice (Professional) category.

Jocelyn Chew

YiLing completed her honors degree in Vocal and Operatic studies in Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, UK. She won several competitions and one of those awarded her a full scholarship to further her postgraduate degree in Kodály Institute of Liszt Academy, Hungary, She graduated with first class with the title of Kodály expert. She is currently a graduate research assistant in a local university for her doctorate degree. YiLing’s presence is celebrated in many operas, especially in several lead roles like Hansel and Gretel, La Voix Humaine and Carmen. Her performances and masterclasses given set her feets in England, Hungary, Australia, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Thailand, Myanmar and Malaysia. Her contribution to culture and music has been awarded with PJM from the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Pulau Pinang. She carried her duty as adjunct lecturer of Fairview University College, Sunway University, ASWARA, UCSI University, and currently a full-time lecturer at UiTM.

Lai Jia Yun is a classical lyric soprano from Penang, Malaysia. She recently graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Music Performance from Sunway University, where she studied under renowned opera singer YiLing Chiang and was awarded the Sunway Music Scholarship.

Jia Yun has performed at numerous prestigious events, including THE Asia University Summit, the British Malaysian Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards, the French Festival 2024, and BIJOUX FRANÇAIS III at Alliance Française de Kuala Lumpur. She was also invited to perform at Sunway Group’s “The Next 50 Years and Beyond”, attended by Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah and Tuanku Zara Salim.

In competitions, Jia Yun received a Special Mention at the Birmingham International Music Competition 2022, won First Prize at the 10th Hong Kong International Vocal Open Competition 2023, and earned the Bronze Prize at the Amadeus International Music Awards 2023.

Passionate about both classical and contemporary repertoire, Jia Yun continues to develop as a performer while sharing her love of music with audiences across Malaysia and beyond.

Wayne Lau Tsan Wai is a baritone, music educator, songwriter, and choral conductor from Sabah. He holds a Diploma in Music Studies (Vocal Major, Violin Minor) from Sabah Institute of Art, under the tutelage of Adsone Matthew Gabu with Best Academic Achievement & Most Promising Students Awards along with a Certificate in Christian Worship from Singapore Methodist School of Music. 

Wayne started his singing journey at the age of 8 as a choir boy in a children choir under BCCM KK Church. At the age of 15, he became committed to a vocal lesson with Pastor Alvin Lee Kah Haw. Wayne was also the Assistant Conductor and chorister of the BCCM KK Hakka Service Choir, a chorister of BCCM Voice of Praise Choir and Sabah Christian Festival Chorale Association (2015 - 2023). He has participated in numerous ICCCS church music conferences also has been frequently appointed as a vocal soloist in church. He is passionate about Korean art songs and actively explores Korean vocal literature. Besides vocal music, Wayne was also a part of an orchestra as a violinist in Jesselton Philharmonic Orchestra (2020).

During the pandemic, Wayne performed the "Champagne Song" from Die Fledermaus in a Quarantine Opera Online Performance (2021, Worldwide). His operatic debut was as King Melchior in Amahl and the Night Visitors staged in 2024 at Ipoh. In 2025, he performed as Papageno in Die Zauberflöte staged in Sitiawan. Beside opera, he also performed in Musical Theatre Evita as a part of the ensemble in 2022 at KLPAC. 

Wayne was active in joining competitions. He has won multiple awards, including 1st Class Award– "Let the praise fill this land" BCCM Sacred Music Voice Competition (2012), Finalist- "His Music Feast" Sabah Worship Music Composition Competition (2019), 2nd Class Award – Hong Kong Int’l Vocal Open Competition (2020), Silver – KL City Opera Opera KUL (2021), Preliminary Silver – Gold Star Int’l Music Comp. (2023), Finalist – Medici International Music Competition, London Classical Music Competition, Beethoven Int’l Music Competition (Austria), Seil Korea Art Song Competiton (South Korea), SC BRIGHT International Music Concours (Korea) 2nd class award 

Wayne continues to share his passion for opera, choral conducting, and music education, contributing to Malaysia’s classical music scene.

Alex was admitted Fellowship in Vocal Performance with the Highest Honours (Australian International Conservatorium of Music). He also received Certificate of attainment in Choral Conducting and Ofqual Training Qualification UK for Adjudicator. In 2024, Mr. Alex was invited to perform at the Permaisuri Zarith Sofiah Opera House and played a baritone opera role in the Mozart's opera. In the same year, he was recorded in the Celebrity Biographies of Celebrities collector’s series in the Sin Chew Daily's 95th Anniversary Ceremony. In 2023, Alex was invited to perform in the 5th Chin Yong Music Festival to sing the World Premiere of the Malaysia first chamber opera Endless Darkness. In 2022, Alex was awarded “Malaysia Top Ten Outstanding Youth Award” and was successfully recorded in the Asia Pacific International Book of Records in 2023. In 2022, he also awarded “Sun Yat-Sen Figure of the year awards” in Yat-Sen Brand awards ceremony. In 2021, Alex was selected and recorded in the third edition of the British publishing house “Britishpedia Successful People in Malaysia”, and awarded the Certificate Based on Outstanding Performance. His Significant Awards: 2020 Malaysia Top Ten Baritone in Concert Recital; Singer Laureate Award, 2019 Top Ten Outstanding Achievement Award (Malaysia International Arts Festival Gold Award ceremony), 2017/2018/2023/2024 International Choir Competition as LA SPERANZA choir conductor – Gold Award & DIPLOMA. He is currently Adjudicator and Evaluation Team Consultant of Sarawak Singing Council, Committee of the Malaysian Choral Directors Association (Sarawak representative), actively promotes the development of Sarawak’s vocal music and choral activities.

Alex Lau Kiew Kong

Julian Hendriks (born 1999) graduated with a degree in Music Performance from Sunway University’s School of Arts, majoring in classical voice (tenor) under the tutelage of YiLing Chaing. His interest in music started at a young age; he was born into a musically trained family, and classical music was his first love. He began learning the violin at the age of 10 after recovering from a fractured arm and then decided to take drum lessons at 14. He was also taught Malay traditional instruments (caklempong and gamelan) by his father, Ronald Hendriks, during his secondary school years.

A native of Melaka, Malaysia, Julian started singing in a choir at the age of 13 in a secondary school choir led by his father. However, he only began taking private classical voice lessons when he studied for his Foundation in Music at UCSI University’s Institute of Music at 19. At the age of 20, he achieved a distinction in Grade 6 classical singing with Trinity College London, and two years later, he achieved another distinction in his Associate of Trinity College London (ATCL).

His debut in solo classical singing was during the Chopin Society Malaysia Virtual International Music Competition Malaysia 2020, where he won first prize in the open category. In 2021, he was awarded third prize in the Istra Star 2021 International Music Competition (Croatia), and in 2022, he was awarded fourth prize in the London Classical Music Competition (UK).

In 2022, Julian made his public operatic debut in Pro Musica Opera Scenes. That same year, he was cast in the role of “Kaspar” in Menotti’s opera Amahl and the Night Visitors under Fiamma Opera Studio, completing the studio recording in early 2022. He reprised the role in a live performance in August 2024 at Elim Gospel Hall, Ipoh. He also earned a major role in Opera Serikandi Nusantara later in 2022. In 2023, he was invited again to sing in the 14th UiTM-KLPAC Malaysian Composers Concert Series. In 2024, he performed as the cantor in Allegri’s Miserere Mei, Deus during Radiant Dawn, a concert held at Holy Rosary Church, Kuala Lumpur, with KL Madrigal Singers, one of the ensembles under VerSeS Music Ensembles.

In 2025, Julian performed as Monostatos in Mozart’s The Magic Flute in Penang and Sitiawan under Fiamma Opera Studio. That same year, he also appeared as a soloist in a salon concert featuring opera excerpts with Fiamma Opera Studio, hosted by Mr. Bernhard Schutte, in the presence of ambassadors from Germany, Singapore, and the United Nations.

Julian is currently a resident singer for Fiamma Opera Studio, which he joined in 2021, and was part of VerSeS Music Ensembles in 2024. He regularly performs in opera and concert settings across Malaysia.

In addition to his performance work, Julian is the current conductor of the Polyphony Choir at the Chapel of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (SSPX), where he leads the choir in the performance of sacred polyphony and traditional Catholic liturgical music.

Wayne Yeap, a baritone from Kedah, Malaysia, holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Music Performance from Sunway University. Trained by renowned opera singer YiLing Chaing, he has built a strong foundation in classical vocal techniques.  

Wayne has performed in notable events, including Mozart’s ‘The Magic Flute’ (2025), a collaboration concert by Musica Sinfonietta and Fiamma Opera Studio, a collaboration recital by UiTM and Sunway University (2023), an Opera Scene recital by Fiamma Opera Studio, and a fundraising concert at Sunway University (2022). In 2021, he played "Balthazar" in Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors for a Spotify recording along with other singers from Fiamma Opera Studio.

Fong Ee Veen is a classical pianist and music educator based in Malaysia. She holds a Bachelor of Music Performance degree with First Class Honours from Sunway University, where she was awarded the Sunway Music Scholarship. Her academic achievements include distinctions in both the Associate of the Royal Schools of Music (ARSM) and the Trinity College London Advanced Certificate in Piano. She has also been recognised internationally, receiving the Honour Prize at the Amadeus International Music Awards and a Special Mention at the London Classical Music Competition.

She is currently active with Fiamma Opera Studio, performing as both a soloist and collaborative pianist, and serving as rehearsal pianist for productions such as Amahl and the Night Visitors by Gian Carlo Menotti and Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte (The Magic Flute). Through her work with Fiamma, she was invited to perform at events hosted by Datuk Seri Lim Chong Keat at Penang Hill and by German Ambassador Bernhard Schutte, attended by diplomats from Singapore and the United Nations. Her collaborations also include recitals at Universiti Teknologi MARA and Kuala Lumpur City Opera.

Beyond piano performance, she serves as the organist at the Chapel of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and with the Polyphony Choir. As a chorister, she has performed with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra at Dewan Filharmonik Petronas, as well as with the Malaysian Philharmonic Youth Orchestra during the Festival Orkestra Kuala Lumpur.
