The Parlour: Library | Plain Things for Lustrous By Julia Merican

The Parlour presents its first Library with an intimate book salon and discussion with Malaysian writer Julia Merican, author of Plain Things for Lustrous, in collaboration with Aisle One.

An intimate literary gathering exploring Plain Things for Lustrous and its themes of family, memory, inheritance and belonging. The afternoon will centre around a conversation with Julia, followed by an open discussion and an opportunity for guests to meet the author.

Guests will receive selected Chapters 1–3 from Plain Things for Lustrous ahead of the event, allowing everyone to come prepared for the discussion. The session will conclude with a book signing, where guests can purchase a copy of Plain Things for Lustrous and have it signed by Julia.
