Embodied Expression in Choral Singing by Dinar Primasti (Indonesia)

Technical is vital as a foundation, but expression provides connection. Music should be able to touch people's heart and sharing human experience. In the workshop, I will explain the importance of putting emotional interpretation and storytelling behind the notes.

The workshop will also focus on 4 main parts: dynamics, articulation, facial expression, and body gesture. I will do some practical things with the audience so that it helps them easier to understand. One of them is to sing together in different levels of dynamics from 1 to 5, with 1 being the softest and 5 being the loudest. I might also use a video to sum up the material at the end of the workshop.
