Since the early days of settlement, Chinese immigrants have taken root in Bukit Mertajam, where unique beliefs and traditions have flourished. Every year during the seventh lunar month, local residents gather at Pek Kong Cheng to hold the grand Hungry Ghost Festival, worshipping the statue of Da Shi Ye, a symbol of compassion and protection. This is not merely a religious ritual, but also a century-old cultural memory that unites the community’s faith and strength. The story of Bukit Mertajam is not just a local legend—it is a generational testament to history and a prayer for the future.

钟文逸导演 Film Director Chong Boon Yee

钟文逸（导演、摄影师、制作人），生于1981年，是地球影业（Earth  Picture Production Sdn Bhd）的创始人。自2001年投身影视行业以来，他专注于电视节目、体育赛事、纪录片及短片的拍摄工作。凭借深厚的专业经验与独到的视觉美学，他于2016年创立了自己的制作公司，提供一站式影视制作服务，致力于打造高品质的影像作品。

Chong Boon Yee (Director, Cinematographer, Producer), born in 1981, is the founder of Earth Picture Production Sdn Bhd. Since entering the film and television industry in 2001, he has specialized in producing TV programs, sports events, documentaries, and short films. With extensive professional experience and a distinctive visual aesthetic, he established his own production company in 2016 to provide one-stop film and video production services, dedicated to creating high-quality visual works.
