About

As the role of orchestras evolves in response to shifting cultural, economic, and social dynamics, there is a growing need for strategic dialogue and collaborative action. The Kuala Lumpur Orchestra Festival Forum responds to this need by bringing together key stakeholders to shape the future of orchestral development.

This premier two-day gathering is designed to unite voices across the orchestral ecosystem. With a focus on inclusive, sustainable, and forward-thinking approaches to orchestral growth and management, the forum provides a critical platform for public and private sector leaders to explore the expanding potential of the orchestral economy

Taking place on 3rd and 4th June 2025 at Mayor’s Courtyard, the forum will bring together a diverse range of voices—musicians, educators, policymakers, industry leaders, and cultural advocates—to chart a course for the future of orchestral arts in Southeast Asia and beyond.

Forum Objectives:

  • Promote Inclusivity and Sustainability: The forum will emphasize the importance of creating a diverse and sustainable orchestral landscape that reflects the cultural richness of the region.
  • Drive Socio-Economic Impact: Through actionable insights, the forum aims to empower stakeholders with tools to foster meaningful socio-economic benefits across the orchestral sector, enhancing its cultural and economic relevance.
  • Foster Multi-Stakeholder Collaboration: Engaging in open panel discussions and expert-led sessions, we will explore new models of collaboration that involve governments, private sectors, and civil society to create lasting change and growth within the orchestral community.

As Malaysia takes on the prestigious role of ASEAN Chair, this forum offers a timely opportunity to set the stage for collective action. With a focus on collaborative solutions, we aim to identify the key strategies and takeaways that will shape the future of orchestral arts in the ASEAN region and beyond.

Join us at this landmark event as we work together to elevate the future of orchestral music in Southeast Asia
