How does a pair of hands give a puppet life? And how does a craft carried across generations keep going in the present?

Moved to Life brings together puppeteers, researchers and cultural practitioners from across Asia, using performance and dialogue to examine how traditional puppetry is passed on, exchanged, and remade for our time.

For many artists, puppetry is not only a performing craft. It is bound up with the shape of their lives. The symposium invites senior artists who have long worked out of sight to step out front and speak about the life they have spent with puppets, the difficulties of passing the craft on, and what has kept them going.

一双手，如何赋予偶生命？一门流传多年的传统技艺，又如何在当代继续传承与发展？

《心生偶动》汇聚来自亚洲各地的偶戏艺师、研究者与文化工作者，通过展演与对话，探索传统偶戏的传承、交流及当代创生。

对许多艺师而言，偶戏不只是一门表演技艺，更与他们的人生紧密相连。论坛将邀请长期隐身幕后的资深艺师走到台前，分享他们与偶相伴的生命故事、传承所面临的挑战，以及技艺得以延续的动力。

╔ Day 1｜Roots and Resonances　根源与回响 ╗

Four puppetry traditions come together in a cross-cultural opening showcase. The programme also features a tribute to a veteran master and a keynote on the development and challenges of Malaysian puppetry.

Teochew iron-rod puppeteers from across Asia will then gather for an international showcase, symposium, artistic alliance and masterclass. The evening concludes with a documentary screening and the rarely seen “Puppet Battle”.

首日以跨文化汇演揭开序幕，让四种偶戏传统在同一舞台相遇。论坛将向资深艺师致敬，并通过主题演讲梳理马来西亚偶戏的发展与传承处境。

下半场聚焦潮州铁枝木偶。来自亚洲多地的艺师将参与跨国大汇演、专题讨论与交流、艺师结盟及大师工作坊。当晚以纪录片放映及传统“相斗戏”压轴，呈现艺师即兴较艺的张力与魅力。

Performances, keynotes and panel discussions will explore the role of puppetry in education, cultural advocacy and contemporary creation. International masterclasses will offer opportunities for hands-on learning and creative exchange.

Join us to discover how tradition continues to live, move and evolve in the hands of its artists.

次日从传统走向当代，通过演出、主题演讲、艺术家对谈及专题讨论，探讨偶戏在教育、文化倡议与跨领域创作中的新可能。国际大师工作坊也将提供近距离学习与实践交流的机会。

走进偶的世界，看见艺师如何以双手赋予偶生命，并与我们一同思考：传统如何在不断操演、交流与再创造之中继续生长。
