Leela Jhansi is a 13-year-old girl who leads a happy and contented life in a remote village. The only ambition she and her grandmother share is to get her educated in order to secure a better future. Destiny, however, has ordained otherwise. When the richest man in the village, Damodaram proposes to marry Leela, promising wealth and a secured future, Leela&rsquo;s father Palwankar begins to dream of riches &ndash; after all, why must he deprive his daughter of such an opportunity?

Fa Abdul is a playwright, director, columnist and a TV scriptwriter. Her works are Malaysian flavoured, filled with human elements and cultural relevance.

In 2013, Fa won the Best Educational TV Programme award at the International Science Film Festival, Germany. In 2016, she represented Malaysia at the Asian Women Writers Festival, Singapore. She has also received several awards for her involvement in theatre - the Mercedes Benz Creative Excellence Award (2015 & 2021) and the Kakiseni Boh Cameronian Award (2016).

Fa believes storytelling is a powerful tool in encouraging dialogues on prominent issues that ties us together as a society.

Sidhart Joe Dev is a passionate video producer hailing from Penang with a keen eye for storytelling, he has been actively involved in creating captivating short films, commercials, and mini-documentaries. Armed with a degree in Film & Broadcasting from Universiti Sains Malaysia, Sidhart has dedicated himself to being a full-time video producer. His expertise extends to producing and hosting talk shows, conducting political interviews, and curating engaging lifestyle shows and podcasts.

Sidhart’s versatility shines through in the realm of local theatre, where he has made an indelible impression as a writer, director, and actor. The theatre community has recognized his contributions, particularly in his involvement with renowned plays such as A Streetcar Named Desire, Antigone, and Bollywood musical Rab Ne Bana di Jodi.

Sidhart ventured into the bustling Kuala Lumpur art scene with his participation in Joe Hasham's You, Me, and The Big C in 2022. In the same year, his outstanding work in the SHORT+SWEET Theatre festival earned him accolades across diverse categories such as Best Actor, Best Director, Best Production, Audience Choice Award, and Mercedes Benz Creative Excellence Award for a play called Trash. 

In 2023, Sidhart appeared in Fa Abdul’s monologue series His Story and Theatresauce’s They All Die at The End, an all-Indian male ensemble show exploring Indian masculinity, identity, and family history. Later that year, Sidhart was seen as Sultan Mahmud Shah in the modern retelling of Jebat by Joe Hasham. In a recent review, Malaysiakini Press hailed Dev's performance as unforgettable, describing him as a 'narcissistic, egomaniacal Sultan Mahmud Shah' whose portrayal perfectly balanced the otherwise brooding and serious tone of the play. Dev's interpretation of the character as a larger-than-life comic book villain added depth and intrigue to the production.

Sidhart made a triumphant return to the SHORT+SWEET Theatre Festival 2023, showcasing his talents as a writer, director, and actor in the play I’ll Be There for You. The production received great reviews and garnered significant acclaim, ultimately earning accolades including Best Newcomers, Best Production, Audience Choice Award, and The Creative Excellence Award. Sidhart's performance and direction were recognized with awards for Best Actor and Best Director, further solidifying his reputation in the theatre scene.

In 2024, Sidhart is set to take on a significant role in Fa Abdul’s poignant production, Leela Jhansi, a compelling narrative exploring the hardship of a child bride. Additionally, audiences can anticipate his involvement in Twisted, a whimsical kids’ theatre show by Big Nose Productions and KLPAC that presents classic fairytales with a unique twist.

His journey began at the tender age of 7, plunging himself in the world of theater, before transitioning into short films thereafter.

Performing with head and heart intelligence, and driven by passion, Lucille has been involved in 30+ productions - Bangsawan and Ko-Tai included. Will she be taking her final curtain call as 'Dadima' (grandma)in Fa Abdul's "Leela Jhansi?" She also featured in Fa's "Tales from the Bedroom" (2018), and "Short 'n Sweet" 2017 production. She was last seen in Jay Menon's "Memes" (2019). The doyen of Malaysian theatre, the late Krishen Jit, once told her, "Never give up theatre. It's in your blood." This inspired her to continue treading the boards...

Meet Monica Mohan, ✨ an educator and passionate storyteller who adores sharing tales with young children, relishing the joy of seeing their eyes light up with wonder.
 Monica is an avid reader who finds immense pleasure in watching stories come to life, especially on the theater stage, which she believes is the most immediate way for one person to connect with another's humanity, as eloquently stated by Oscar Wilde.
Monica has been part of remarkable productions, such as Tales of Mamak 2016 ,  "My Dark Sister" by Fa Abdul and "The Plague Upon Your House" by Penang Players, under the direction of Jay Menon.
She has  been a part of the "MEME" a musical teather where she was a part of the singing team. She has recently acted in a Spice and Curry production "parvai etrar- Blind) and Ektiar  2023 and "My Journey , My Way"  in 2024

Menan started to dabble in teather in the peak of Covid 19 in a short play named - Yen Karuppu aka ( my dark sister ) written and directed by Fa Abdul. He later continued in All about Letchumi in 2021 written by Rusaidi and directed by Ilya Rusaidi . He also acted in Pelita Ajaib and Jikey as the Genie and Awang a project under MyPenangCreative.

Her Story and His Story began as an online playwriting project helmed by Fa Abdul during the height of the pandemic in 2021, which continued into 2022. In 2023, it was staged successfully in two instalments at the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (klpac). This March 2024, 6 selected monologues will be staged in Penang for the very first time.

Love in Georgetown City is a collection of ten raunchy, heart-warming and thought- provoking tales featuring one night stands, unconventional sex therapy, sexless marriage, office fling, extra-marital affairs, teen pregnancy, paedophilia, decadence of the youth, and mixed race relationships in a hypocritical society. 
 
Written, directed and produced by Fa Abdul, well-known for her opinion pieces in Malaysiakini, The Malaysian Insight and Free Malaysia Today, Love in Georgetown City is a reflection of Fa&#039;s charm, sarcastic and honest nail-on-the-head style of writing. Fa believes theater is a collective act of sharing stories by reflecting our experience of life, enabling others to value and learn from each other &ndash; this, as she puts it, is what makes us human. And Love in Georgetown City does just that. 
 
So do come spend some time with Fa and her amazing cast comprising of Sharmila Kana, Aloyah Bakar, Ivan Gabriel, Karam Tabba, Tan Seoh Chin, Sharifah Sarah, Tasnim Hasina and Kabilan Murali Dharan to spread some love and laughter!

Fa Abdul and her Penang-based production house, Big Nose Productions, keeps the concept of powerful storytelling from an eclectic ensemble of established and amateur actors, following a script inspired by the veteran playwright and director, yet nuanced by the experiences and personas of the onstage performers. 
 
This concept has gained a strong and loyal presence for Fa Abdul and her revolving cast members, offering theater enthusiasts a refreshing blend of relatable plots and twists filled with cultural relevance and context. 
 
In 2018, Tales from the Scars opened to sell-out audiences in Penang, and a year later Fa Abdul injected new and provocative stories and new and provocative actors to challenge social norms and cultural status quo before restaging it in Kuala Lumpur where it became a hit.

The idea for this two hour comedic fiesta came about following the success of the award-winning Amma&#039;s Mutton Curry in Short + Sweet (Penang) Theatre Festival 2016, sweeping clean the titles of Best Overall Production, Audience Choice, Best Director, Best Script, Best Female Actor and Best Supporting Actor. 
 
This is a fundraising show for the Performing Arts Centre of Penang (penangpac).

《当披着羊皮的狼遇见披着狼皮的羊》When Wolf In Sheep Skin Meet Sheep In Wolf Skin

俄罗斯剧作家安东·巴甫洛维奇·契诃夫在27岁写下《天鹅之歌》，是根据自己的小说《卡尔卡斯》（Kalkhas）改编的，1890年1月19日上演于圣彼得堡的亚历山大剧院。

传说，天鹅在垂死之前会发出它这一生最凄美的叫声，把一生对美和湖水的依恋化为最后的绝唱，也许是因为知道自己时间不多了，所以要把握这最后的时光，将它最美好的一面毫不保留地完全表现出来。

天鹅之歌 The Swan Song

《三姊妹》是有“世界短篇小说之王”之称的俄罗斯剧作家契诃夫所创作的四幕喜剧，于1901年在莫斯科首演。“在平平淡淡的琐碎日常中堆砌出震撼的瞬间”，契诃夫不设立主角光环，不依循套路说故事，因此开启了剧场发展史的新篇章，奠定了他在文坛上的地位。
