About

While You Were Talking is a story about neurodivergence told through a whimsical fairytale filled with absurd humour, physical theatre, and unexpected discoveries. When Aaron finds himself in a strange kingdom governed by rules, expectations, and the pursuit of being "normal", he encounters characters who challenge the way he sees the world and eventually, himself. Blending comedy, imagination, and heartfelt storytelling, While You Were Talking celebrates the beauty, complexity and struggles of minds that work differently. For neurodivergent audiences, it is an invitation to see parts of themselves reflected on stage, to feel recognised, and to know they are not alone. For neurotypical audiences, it is a letter; an invitation to pause, listen and look beyond the behaviours we so often misunderstand. It asks us to consider what happens when we expect everyone to think, feel, learn, and exist in the same way. While You Were Talking is ultimately a story about understanding, belonging, and the courage to embrace the parts of ourselves that the world may not always know how to hold.
