A fun and engaging 3-day public speaking experience where children build confidence through creativity, hands-on learning, and real-world communication.

Designed for children aged 7–12, each day combines public speaking with a different learning theme, culminating in a final showcase presentation.

Children will use bricks and building materials to create, explain, describe, and present their ideas through fun public speaking activities.

Children explore storytelling, creativity, visual expression, and confidence-building through art-based speaking activities.

About Facilitator
Khayma Balakrishnan is an educator, public speaking coach, emcee, workshop facilitator and creative practitioner with over 12 years of experience in teaching and communication training. She holds a Bachelor of Education (TESL) and a Master of Education (TESL) from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).

Her teaching experience spans learners from young children to adults across diverse educational backgrounds. Her areas of expertise include public speaking, communication, English language, theatre, poetry, presentation skills and creative learning. She currently teaches at tertiary level and has conducted public speaking workshops, communication training and educational programmes for students and young adults.

Khayma's approach to public speaking moves beyond conventional speech drills. She incorporates play, storytelling, theatre, art, hands-on activities and experiential learning to help learners find their voices naturally. She believes that children communicate best when they are given something meaningful to create, discover and talk about.

Alongside her work as an educator, Khayma is an experienced emcee and published creative writer. Her poetry and short stories have appeared in both print and online publications since 2017. Her interest in theatre and performance also informs her teaching practice, particularly in developing confidence, expression, spontaneity and stage presence.

She currently heads LitLive, a Special Interest Group under the Malaysian English Language Teaching Association (MELTA), which explores literature, performance and creative approaches to English language education.

At the heart of her work is a simple belief: every child has something worth saying — sometimes, they simply need the right space and encouragement to discover how to say it.
