Claudia Yang was born in Malaysia. She began the piano at five, and at sixteen she went to Vienna to study at the University of Music and Performing Arts (MDW) with Dianko Iliew, Paul Badura-Skoda and Ludwig Hoffmann. She graduated as joint best pianist of her class. Since her 1999 debut at the Beijing Concert Hall, she has been a soloist with the London Symphony Orchestra, the China National Symphony Orchestra, the Malaysian National Symphony Orchestra and many other orchestras across Europe, Asia and Latin America. She was the first Asian pianist Valery Gergiev invited to the Vladikavkaz International Music Festival. Hungary gave her the Pro Cultura Hungarica Award for championing Liszt. She is also a committed teacher, has given masterclasses at leading conservatories, and served as Honorary Dean of Piano at the Tianjin Conservatory of Music.

Claudia Yang founded Gather with Heart and Soul in 2010. It grew from one belief: art moves us most when it speaks to the heart. What began as a classical music series has become a bridge that brings art into everyday life, through concerts, masterclasses, exchanges with teachers and the EMAS. Emas is Malay for “gold”, and the letters stand for Education, Music, Arts and Social. This year Gather with Heart and Soul comes to Johor Bahru with the theme “The Legacy of Music.” The programme moves from Beethoven–Liszt’s Adelaide and Chopin’s Ballade No. 4 to Wang Jianzhong’s A Hundred Birds Paying Homage to the Phoenix and Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue. It also includes works by Schumann, Rachmaninoff, Brahms and Chen Peixun.

Calling Young Pianists: EMAS Rising Star 2026 — Shine for the Future Keeping music alive means passing it on. In the EMAS Rising Star 2026 auditions, Claudia Yang will choose winners from each category to play live at this concert. Young pianists of any nationality who are under 18 (born after 31 December 2007) can apply:

• Category A (Under 12, Solo): a piece of up to 4 minutes
• Category B (Under 18, Solo): a piece of up to 6 minutes
• Category C (Under 18, Four-Hands Duet): Brahms, Hungarian Dance No. 5 (Primo part)

Claudia Yang出生于马来西亚，祖籍福建同安。她五岁开始学琴，十六岁赴维也纳国立音乐与表演艺术大学深造，师从Dianko Iliew、Paul Badura-Skoda及Ludwig Hoffmann，毕业时与同学并列全班最佳钢琴家。1999年在北京音乐厅首演后，她被《华声》誉为"年度全球华人新闻人物"。她曾与伦敦交响乐团、中国国家交响乐团、马来西亚国家交响乐团等乐团合作，在欧洲、亚洲与南美洲演出。她是首位受捷杰耶夫邀请登上弗拉季高加索国际音乐节的亚洲钢琴家，也因演绎李斯特作品获得匈牙利政府文化勋章。

《心灵的邀约》由Claudia Yang于2010年创立，初衷是"艺术与心灵的对话，才能让人真正被感动"。它从古典音乐鉴赏平台起步，逐渐成为"让艺术走进生活"的桥梁，后来又发展出EMAS。EMAS在马来语中意为"黄金"，四个字母分别代表教育(E)、音乐(M)、艺术(A)与社交(S)。今年，《心灵的邀约》以"音乐的传承"为主题来到新山。曲目包括贝多芬/李斯特《阿德莱德》、肖邦《F小调第四叙事曲》、王建中《百鸟朝凤》、格什温《蓝色狂想曲》，以及舒曼、拉赫玛尼诺夫、勃拉姆斯、陈培勋的作品。

青年钢琴家，与Claudia Yang同台！ 传承，就是把音乐交给下一代。"EMAS明日之星2026"海选现已开放，Claudia Yang将从每个组别选出一名优胜者，在音乐会上现场演出。凡2007年12月31日后出生、未满18岁者均可报名，不限国籍：

• A组（12岁以下独奏）：曲目4分钟以内
• B组（18岁以下独奏）：曲目6分钟以内
• C组（18岁以下四手联弹）：勃拉姆斯《匈牙利舞曲第五号》Primo（高音部）

*所有观众每人一券，儿童须凭全票入场。

One ticket per person for all audience members; children must have full-price tickets for entry.

*谢绝怀抱婴儿入场，适合6岁及以上儿童。
