About the Impatient Sisters
The Impatient Sisters are a Malaysian indie folk trio of sisters from Kuantan, Pahang, known for their signature harmonies, heartfelt songwriting, and genre-bending approach to music. Since emerging on the independent music scene in 2011, the band has built a loyal following through songs that blend folk-pop sensibilities with rich storytelling, whimsical arrangements, and emotional depth.
What began with intimate performances and original songs such as Comets and Stars and Hey There Young Sailor has grown into a musical journey spanning multiple releases, festival appearances, and collaborations. Their debut self-titled album, released in 2014, established The Impatient Sisters as one of Malaysia's most distinctive indie acts, earning them opportunities to perform at major festivals including Urbanscapes, Mosaic Music Festival, and Good Vibes Festival, as well as opening for international artists such as Fleet Foxes, The Jezabels and Dia Frampton.
Over the years, the sisters have continued to evolve creatively while staying true to the sincerity and warmth that define their music. Following independent releases including Sister Don't Cry (2015), Hanyut (2018), and the MCO-recorded EP Hati-Hati (2020), they released their long-awaited album 7 Years, marking a new chapter in their musical journey. They also revisited their earliest composition with Comets and Stars (Metal Version) - a reimagining of the very first song they ever wrote.
In recent years, The Impatient Sisters have reached new audiences through their viral Raya hit Galok Raya, which has become a festive favourite and led to performances and collaborations with brands including UNIQLO Malaysia and TikTok.
Beyond performing and recording, the sisters remain active contributors to Malaysia's creative community. In June 2026, they successfully organized the inaugural Kuantan Arts Festival (KuArts), bringing together artists, musicians, performers, and the wider community in a celebration of local arts and culture.
Today, The Impatient Sisters continue to write, record, and perform, captivating audiences with songs that explore love, family, nostalgia, resilience, and the small moments that connect us all. Their music remains rooted in the unique bond they share as sisters - an enduring connection that continues to inspire everything they create.
