Mekong Review: Current Affairs, Human Stories

Writing is a way for us to contribute to broader conversations about issues close to our hearts. From climate change and urban development, to gender equality and socioeconomic inequalities (and everything in between!), there’s often so much to say that we struggle to work out how and where to start. How can we use writing and storytelling as tools to inform and engage others on the matters we feel strongly about?

In this workshop run by Mekong Review’s editor-in-chief, Kirsten Han, we look at how human stories and experiences can be used as entry points to the sociopolitical issues of our day. Drawing on Kirsten’s experience as a journalist and political writer, as well as pieces published in Mekong Review, we break down stories to their constituent parts for lessons that participants can apply to their own writing. No prior writing or publishing experience is required for this workshop; come as you are, with the causes and stories that matter to you.
