About
Turandot is Puccini's epic final opera, set in ancient Beijing, where the beautiful but icy Princess Turandot vows never to marry. Any prince seeking her hand must answer three riddles correctly—or face execution. When the mysterious Prince Calaf succeeds, he offers Turandot one final challenge: if she can discover his name before dawn, he will willingly die. As the city searches through the night, sacrifice, courage and compassion begin to melt Turandot's guarded heart.
Featuring some of opera's most glorious music, including the celebrated aria "Nessun dorma," Turandot is a timeless story of love, redemption and hope. As Puccini passed away before completing the opera, this production will be presented with Franco Alfano's traditional completion, the version most frequently performed in opera houses around the world.
Age Recommendation: Suitable for audiences aged 6 years and above.
