Art Together

Art Together: Lake Gardens Drawing Competition invites young artists to spend a morning drawing alongside professional artist-mentors from Persatuan Seni Negeri Sembilan, capturing the iconic architecture and landscapes surrounding Seremban Lake Gardens (Taman Tasik Seremban).

Whether you are an experienced young artist or simply enjoy creating, this is an opportunity to observe, sketch, and learn directly from practising artists in a relaxed and inspiring outdoor setting. Participants will draw side-by-side with artist-mentors, receiving guidance and encouragement throughout the session while celebrating the beauty and heritage of Negeri Sembilan through art.

Come draw, create, and discover Seremban through fresh eyes in this family-friendly celebration of art and community!

Age Categories

• Junior: 12 years old and below
• Senior: 13–18 years old
• Open: Non-competitive category, open to all ages who want to join in and paint for fun!

Competition

8:00am – Registration at Astaka, Seremban Lake Gardens (opposite Floating Stage, see photo below)

Following registration, festival ushers will guide participants to one of four drawing locations*, all within easy walking distance:

1. Pedestrian walkway overlooking the State Mosque
2. Lakeside viewpoint near A&W Restaurant
3. Floating Stage, overlooking the iconic Minangkabau-inspired structure
4. Bangunan White House, overlooking the colonial style building 

Participants will spend three (3) hours drawing alongside artist-mentors from Persatuan Seni Negeri Sembilan.

*Note: Locations may be adjusted based on event day conditions.

At the end of the session, participants may:

• Take their artwork home as a keepsake, or
• Submit it to the Nine Arts Festival judging panel to be entered into the competition.

Prizes

Each competitive category will receive:

• Between 5 - 10 Outstanding Awards

Winners will receive BATA vouchers, kindly sponsored by BATA Malaysia.

Award winners will be notified by phone. Award ceremony will be held on August 16, 2026 (Sunday) at 12 noon at Millennia Village, Seremban.

What to Bring

• Drawing materials (pencils, pens, paints, colouring media, etc.)
• Drawing board or drawing table
• Hat, water bottle, and sun protection
• A folding stool or portable chair (optional)

Drawing paper will be provided by the organizers for all participants (Senior: A3 | Junior: B4 | Open: Choice of A3 or B4).
