Ever felt the urge to capture a magical travel moment that a camera lens just couldn't do justice?Join us for a relaxing, creative afternoon where you’ll learn the fundamentals of travel sketching. In this immersive 3 hours workshop, explore the beautiful world of fountain pen drawing through the illustration of a heritage Peranakan store front.
You will learn how to control lines in thick and thin, tips for drawing with a fountain pen, master ink control, and top it off with a light watercolor wash.Absolutely beginner-friendly. No prior drawing experience is required. A traceable templates will be provided as references for guidance and an extra confident boost! By the end of this session, you’ll have the confidence to grab a pen, step outside, and start illustrating your own travel adventures.

Open to anyone aged 18 and above. Whether you are looking to pick up a new creative hobby or simply want to unplug and enjoy a mindful afternoon of drawing, this space is for you.

-A completed, vibrant fountain pen and watercolor masterpiece of a Peranakan house front.-Core fountain pen techniques: exploring textures through varied line weights, stippling, and cross-hatching

-Sharing on choosing travel sketching tools and tips on how to keep your pens in perfect condition.
What is Included:
Just bring your curiosity! All tools are provided for use during the workshop, from specialized fountain pens and waterproof ink to professional watercolor palettes, brushes, and paper. Plus, you’ll receive a traceable outline template as guidance to ensure your artwork turns out beautifully.(Feel free to bring your own favorite sketching fountain pen, ink and journal too!)

About Your Instructor: HUI RU WONG

Her artwork frequently sparks unexpected conversations with fellow travelers, turning sketches into lifelong stories. Hui Ru’s artistic approaches encourage travelers to slow down, observe, and truly submerge themselves in our surroundings, building deep, personal connections that no smartphone can ever replace.
