About
Food tells stories of culture, comfort, travel, and everyday joy. In this 3-hour hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to illustrate food using fountain pen linework combined with watercolor washes, creating expressive, loose, and lively food illustrations.

We’ll explore how to observe real food, simplify shapes, build confident pen lines, and layer watercolor to add warmth and texture. Whether you love sketching at cafés, journaling your meals, or creating art for social media, this workshop will help you turn everyday food into beautiful illustrated scenes.

Students will work on a complete food illustration by the end of the session and gain skills they can continue using in sketchbooks, postcards, journals, and artwork.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
You’ll learn how to sketch food confidently with fountain pen, combine ink and watercolor harmoniously, and observe and simplify real objects into strong compositions. The class covers texture techniques for food surfaces, color mixing for realistic yet expressive results, how to avoid muddy colors, and how to keep your illustrations loose and lively while developing your own personal sketching style.
WHO SHOULD JOIN
This workshop is perfect for beginners who want to start illustrating, journalers and planners who enjoy drawing food, artists curious about fountain pen sketching, and watercolor beginners looking for more structure. It’s also great for travelers who love urban sketching, stationery lovers who want practical art skills, and creatives who enjoy slow, cozy art sessions.
