About

Join us for JOHOR Local History, a cultural sharing session that explores how music and storytelling shape the identity of Johor and its people.

Through a curated discussion of traditional and local Johor songs, speaker Wan Noor Khuzairey Wan Mohtar will uncover how lyrics can act as maps of memory—documenting landscapes, environments, community values, and the emotional connection between people and place. Beyond entertainment, these songs serve as a living archive of geographical knowledge, cultural heritage, and social history.

The session also highlights the unique relationship between the people of Johor and their leadership, where cultural arts have long played an important role in strengthening social bonds, collective identity, and regional pride.

Held in conjunction with Visit Johor 2026, this programme invites audiences to rediscover Johor through its sounds, stories, and cultural expressions.
