About
This session explores how youth volunteering can move beyond short-term participation into long-term, meaningful impact in conservation and sustainability work. Through real stories from the field, young volunteers and practitioners share their experiences working with NGOs, community projects, and environmental initiatives — highlighting what they learned, the challenges they faced, and how these experiences shaped their perspectives.
The conversation reflects on how structured volunteering pathways, such as RASMA, can empower youth to step into real roles within conservation spaces, build skills, and contribute meaningfully to ongoing efforts on the ground. It also opens up dialogue on how organisations and communities can better support youth engagement, turning passion into sustained action for the environment.
