Introduction of Event

Malacca (Melaka), fondly known as Malaysia’s Historic City, is a place where history comes alive. With deep roots in the Sultanate era and centuries of colonial influence, Malacca offers a rich tapestry of stories, cultures, and traditions that continue to thrive today. Located in the south-west of the Malay Peninsula and bordered by Johor and Negeri Sembilan, the state is characterized by gentle lowlands and scenic hills, creating a charming and inviting landscape.

Renowned for its unique cultural heritage and historical significance, Malacca was proudly designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2008. Since then, it has welcomed visitors from around the world who come to experience its vibrant history, diverse culture, and warm hospitality.

In alignment with this prestigious legacy, Melaka: Historic City has been selected as the official venue for the launch of Visit Malaysia Year 2026 (VMY2026) – Tourism, Arts, and Culture. This event will bring together both national and international participants, further positioning Malacca as a key destination on the global tourism map.

We are delighted to welcome an estimated 400–500 participants to this meaningful and exciting event, and we look forward to celebrating Malaysia’s tourism, arts, and culture together in the heart of this historic city.

MY BROMPTON MALAYSIA FANS DAY 2026

Rules & Regulations

WAIVER, RELEASE OF LIABILITY & TERMS AND CONDITIONS

In consideration of my application and acceptance to participate in My Brompton Malaysia Fans Day 2026, including but not limited to any and all pre-event, main event and post-event activities, gatherings, rides, workshops, social events or related activities (collectively referred to as the “Event”), and/or my being permitted to ride, officiate, observe, volunteer, work for, or in any manner participate in the Event or its staging, I hereby agree as follows:

1. Release and Indemnity

I hereby freely and voluntarily release, waive and discharge, and covenant not to sue, and shall indemnify and hold harmless:

The Event organiser(s), committee members and representatives of My Brompton Malaysia Fans Day 2026 (hereinafter referred to as the “Organiser”);
All sponsors, partners, collaborators, advertisers and supporters of the Event;
All volunteers, ride marshals, officials, photographers, videographers and independent contractors;
Any government authorities, local councils, venue owners, property owners or lessees where the Event or any part thereof is held; andThe officers, directors, employees, members and agents of all the above(collectively referred to as the “Releasees”)from any and all claims, demands, actions, losses, damages, liabilities, costs and expenses (including legal fees) arising directly or indirectly out of my participation in the Event, including but not limited to personal injury, property damage, permanent disability or death, whether caused by negligence of the Releasees or otherwise, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

2. Assumption of Risk
I acknowledge and understand that cycling and related activities are inherently risky and may involve dangers including but not limited to traffic accidents, road conditions, weather conditions, equipment failure, falls, collisions, and physical exertion. I voluntarily assume all risks of injury, illness, death or property damage arising from my participation in the Event, whether foreseeable or unforeseeable.

3. Compliance with Rules and Safety
I agree to comply with all Event rules, guidelines, instructions and safety requirements as set by the Organizer and Event officials. I understand that failure to comply may result in my removal from the Event without refund.

4. Fitness and Health Declaration
I declare that:
I am physically and mentally fit to participate in the Event;
I have sufficient cycling skills and experience for a fun ride event;
I have no known medical condition that would make my participation unsafe.
I acknowledge that it is my responsibility to consult a medical professional if I have any doubts regarding my fitness.

5. Medical Treatment Consent
I consent to receive any medical treatment deemed necessary by the Organiser, volunteers, or emergency personnel in the event of injury, illness or accident during the Event. I understand that any medical expenses incurred shall be my own responsibility.

6. Photography, Video and Media Release
I grant the Organiser the irrevocable right to use, reproduce and publish my name, photograph, image, voice and likeness captured during the Event in any media, including but not limited to social media, websites, promotional materials, videos and advertisements, for promotional, marketing or documentation purposes, without any compensation.

7. Registration Fees and Refund Policy

I understand and agree that:
All registration fees are non-refundable;
No refund will be provided for non-starters, withdrawals or failure to complete the Event;
The Organiser reserves the right to cancel, postpone, modify or shorten the Event due to weather conditions, safety concerns, force majeure or any other reason beyond reasonable control, without obligation to provide refunds.

8. Event Cancellation and Force Majeure
In the event that the Event is cancelled or does not proceed due to force majeure, government directives, safety issues or other unforeseen circumstances, any payments made may be forfeited unless otherwise determined by the Organiser. Any request regarding refunds or credits must be submitted within sixty (60) days from the official announcement, failing which all payments shall be deemed void.

9. Registration Transfer Policy
I understand that my registration is non-transferable by default. Any request to transfer registration to another individual must be made in writing to the Organiser, is subject to approval on a case-by-case basis, and may incur additional administrative fees. Unapproved transfers will result in loss of insurance coverage.

10. Age Requirement
I confirm that I am eighteen (18) years of age or older and legally competent to enter into this agreement.By registering for the Event, I acknowledge that I have carefully read, fully understood and voluntarily agreed to this Waiver, Release of Liability and Terms & Conditions.

For Participants Under 18 Years of Age
I am the parent or legal guardian of the participant named below. I have read and understood this Waiver and Release Agreement. In consideration of allowing my child to participate in My Brompton Malaysia Fans Day 2026, I agree that the terms of this agreement shall be binding upon me, my child, and our respective heirs, legal representatives and assigns.

I hereby release, indemnify and hold harmless the Releasees from any and all claims or liabilities arising from my child’s participation in the Event, whether caused by negligence of the Releasees or otherwise.

2. Disclaimer

My Brompton Malaysia Fans Day 2026 – Disclaimer
This is a non-competitive fun ride organised for community and recreational purposes only.

I hereby agree that I shall not hold the Organiser and Co-Organisers of My Brompton Malaysia Fans Day 2026, including their representatives, volunteers and sponsors, liable for any cost, expense, loss, damage or liability that may arise as a result of my participation in the Event.
I hereby waive, release and discharge all claims for any injury, illness, disability or death suffered by me, or by any person under my care, whether caused directly or indirectly by any act, omission, negligence or failure to act by the Organiser, Co-Organisers, their members, employees or volunteers during or arising out of my participation in the Event.
In consideration of the Organiser accepting my registration, I voluntarily assume full responsibility and liability for any loss, damage or injury to myself, my property or others that may occur in connection with the Event.
I further confirm that I have carefully read, understood and accepted this disclaimer, together with all terms and conditions, rules and regulations governing My Brompton Malaysia Fans Day 2026, and I agree to abide by them at all times.
