THE MORE WE GET TOGETHER

Procession Theatre and Buka Panggung

Join Dr Rosdeen Suboh as he remembers and reimagines the works of playwright Syed Alwi using the title of Syed's very first play - THE MORE WE GET TOGETHER. Taking inspiration from the site of KLPAC, a train depot, the performance will be a journey with the audience as fellow passengers traveling north from KL to Perak (Menuju Utara). During the ‘train journey’, the audience will encounter characters from 3 of Syed Alwi’s plays - the tragic and impetuous Mariam from Menuju Utara, the medicine seller Tok Perak from Tok Perak and the mischievous Alang from Alang Rentak Seribu. 

All festival collaborators (and audience members too!) are invited to bring photos, images, texts, banners, instruments to be part of the procession and remember the artists who came before us.

There will be a Buka Panggung ceremony to open the festival.

This is an outdoor event. In the event of rain, it will be moved indoor.

Sertailah Dr. Rosdeen Suboh dalam prosesnya mengimbau dan menggubah semula karya-karya dramatis Syed Alwi menerusi judul drama pertamanya The More We Get Together.

Dengan mengambil inspirasi daripada tapak asal KLPAC yang merupakan depoh kereta api, penonton akan mengikuti perjalanan yang Menuju Utara dari Kuala Lumpur ke Perak dalam persembahan ini. Para ‘penumpang’ akan berpeluang bertemu dengan tiga watak daripada karya Syed Alwi — Mariam, gadis tragis yang bertindak mengikut hati dari Menuju Utara; Tok Perak, si penjual ubat dari Tok Perak; serta Alang, watak nakal dan lucu dari Alang Rentak Seribu.

Semua rakan kolaborator festival — dan juga para penonton! — dialu-alukan untuk membawa foto, imej, teks, sepanduk atau alat muzik bagi menyertai perarakan sebagai penghormatan kepada para seniman sebelum kita.

Festival ini akan dirasmikan dengan majlis Buka Panggung.  

Ini merupakan acara luar. Sekiranya cuaca tidak mengizinkan, acara akan dipindah ke kawasan dalam bangunan. 

DR ROSDEEN SUBOH

Dr. Rosdeen Suboh is a celebrated Malaysian theatre scholar, director, and actor specialising in Southeast Asian traditional performing arts. Founder of Forum Theatre, his award-winning work spans film, television, and stage. His research and performances revive rituals, aesthetics, and comic traditions across Makyung, Jikey, Bangsawan, and other regional forms.

舞台剧游行及 Buka Panggung

《The More We Get Together》是 Syed Alwi 的首部舞台剧作，而Rosdeen Suboh博士将带大家一起回忆及重构 Syed Alwi 的舞台创作。KLPAC 的前身是铁路维修厂，这场演出以此为灵感，自吉隆坡出发北上霹雳（Menuju Utara），将观众化为乘客，与 Syed Alwi 作品中的三位人物邂逅 ——《Menuju Utara》中性格鲁莽的 Mariam、《Tok Perak》里的卖药人 Tok Perak，以及《Alang Rentak Seribu》中调皮的 Alang。

表演艺术节的嘉宾与观众皆可携带照片、文字、海报或乐器参与游行队伍，共同向艺术前辈致敬。

艺术节将以 Buka Panggung 仪式揭开序幕。

这场活动将在户外进行。若天气不佳，活动将在户内进行。
