About
A moderated discussion between Bilqis Hijjas and choreographers in KL (January Low, Lee Ren Xin) and Montreal (Dana Michel, Kim-Sanh Châu, Louise Michel Jackson), touching on creating new worlds, working solo or collaboratively and anxieties faced in creating work in their respective spaces.
About the moderator:
Bilqis Hijjas is manager of the arts program at Rimbun Dahan, her family's centre which focuses on arts, architecture and the environment. Formerly a dance producer and president of MyDance Alliance, a membership organisation supporting dance in Malaysia, she launched the popular site-specific performance platform Dancing in Place. She writes about dance on her website Critics Republic, and in 2024 was awarded an ArtsEquator Fellowship recognising mid-career arts writers in Southeast Asia.
