
KL Festival is Kuala Lumpur's flagship cultural celebration, anchored in the city's UNESCO Creative City of Design designation and aligned with the Warisan KL aspiration. Rooted in creativity, cultures and communities, the festival activates Downtown Kuala Lumpur through heritage-led urban regeneration, transforming the historic areas into vibrant cultural destinations.Held for the second time, KL Festival 2026 takes place over 26 days from 6–31 May, presenting more than 80 multidisciplinary events and activations across over 25 venues, and public spaces in the historic core. With over 700 hours of programming, the festival brings together local artists, international partners and community-based organisations. They will present diverse experiences from live performances and contemporary art installations to heritage tours, workshops and family-friendly public programmes. Importantly, most of the events are free to the public, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity for all.Through curated and community programming, the festival strengthens Downtown KL as a cultural and creative hub for residents, and visitors alike. With an anticipated reach over 100,000 participants, the festival supports local creative practitioners, stimulates economic vitality, and contributes to Malaysia's broader cultural and tourism ambitions, including Visit Malaysia 2026.
