Growing the Scene Together: CloudJoi’s New Vision for AI-Powered Discovery

JoiUp 2026 brought together organisers, partners, and the arts community at the newly opened D Theatre Malaysia. Marking the venue’s very first event on 6 April 2026, the keynote featured all three CloudJoi co-founders—CEO Dennis Lee, COO Kevin Teh, and CCO William Yap, sharing the stage together for the first time.
This year's message went beyond updates and announcements. CloudJoi is evolving from a performing arts ticketing platform into a comprehensive discovery platform for arts and experiences. By enhancing its core ticketing services with better discovery tools, CloudJoi aims to grow the overall audience for the entire industry.

Five Years In
To date, CloudJoi has issued over 1,000,000 tickets across 4,000+ events. In 2025 alone, the platform supported 483 active organisers, hosted over 1,000 shows, and sold more than 200,000 tickets.
CloudJoi is also growing its regional footprint, establishing entities in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Macau, becoming a Malaysian-built regional platform that enables local organisers to reach international audiences and open doors for cross-border collaboration.

The Next Chapter for the Platform
CloudJoi is charting a new path in how experiences are found and felt. Through a redesigned interface and 10 curated categories, our AI-driven discovery engine removes the guesswork for the audience. It streamlines the journey of how people actually look for things to, bridging the gap between a moment of curiosity and a seat in the front row. These changes will be rolled out in phases throughout the year:

To make this discovery seamless at scale, CloudJoi is integrating an AI-powered engine. This technology allows the platform to understand events by mood, tone, and intent—rather than just dates and categories—to match audiences with the experiences they actually want.
The new CloudJoi design, rolling out in phases, is built around three core pillars:
- Explore: Curated experiences matched to individual interests and past bookings.
- Following: Easy updates from favorite organisers, venues, and artists.
- Nearby: Real-time discovery of experiences happening in the user's immediate location.
Partnering for Growth
CloudJoi continues to build an ecosystem that supports organiser growth through high-impact partnerships:
- Lumi News: Events on CloudJoi are discoverable within Malaysia’s No. 1 news aggregator, reaching 1.7 million users. Lumi readers also receive 10% off tickets purchased through the app.
- Printcious: Organisers can set up custom merchandise directly in the CloudJoi Dashboard to offer as ticket add-ons. Printcious offers exclusive discounts and sponsorship support for selected CloudJoi events. Now live.
- Institutional Support: CloudJoi remains a key partner for JKKN's Pemetaan Budaya dan Rumah Seni initiative and Yayasan Hasanah's ArtsFAS grantees. It also serves as the official ticketing partner for KL Festival, Festival Orchestra KL, and George Town Festival.
