Ben Voigt / Instructor
Ben Voigt is Product Manager at Derivative where he designs, develops, and deploys TouchDesigner as part of the R&D team. Ben also spends much of his time on education and support to forward people's understanding of TouchDesigner. With a background in Computer Science at the University of Toronto, he later found his passion for visuals through film, visual effects, and games. TouchDesigner’s hybrid of art and technology and the opportunity to work with artists and engineers keeps him engaged with the TouchDesigner community wherever he goes.
Yea / Instructor
Yea (Chen Pin-Chen) is a multimedia developer in the performing arts. He specializes in node-based programming and shader languages. His learning and practical experience span stage technology, stage machinery, digital control, woodworking and metalworking, cinematography and lighting, editing and post-production, painting, graphic and optical techniques, machine vision principles, basic electronics, network communication, programming, and fundamental narrative theory—broad, eclectic, yet relatively shallow.
Yea is able to examine existing crafts from multiple perspectives and explore ways of transforming them into digital methods. He is also the community manager of the Taiwanese TouchDesigner creative programming community.
About TEKKA
TEKKA is Kuala Lumpur’s platform for audiovisual culture, a space where sound, light, and systems converge. Rooted in Malaysia and connected to global frequencies, TEKKA invites audiences into a living interface where art, technology, and the human signal meet.
This inaugural edition marks a new chapter for the city’s creative landscape, a dialogue between the tactile and the virtual, rhythm and reflection. Whether you’re discovering audiovisual art for the first time or are already part of the scene, TEKKA invites you to experience how sound and image can move, shift, and reimagine the world around us.
The festival is presented by RHIZO in collaboration with klpac, with support from The Japan Foundation Kuala Lumpur, Chirpybird, National Culture & Arts Foundation (Taiwan), Blackbody Emission and Derivative, with Fluid Noise as programme partner. TEKKA also marks the finale of klpac’s 20th anniversary series.
