About

Concert Repertoire & Highlights
🎶 Dizi Solo – "Poetry Homeland"
Inspired by Han Yu's Tang Dynasty poem Left Migration to Lan Pass – A Farewell to My Nephew Xiang, this piece reflects the composer’s deep nostalgia for his ancestral home in Chaozhou, despite being born in Hong Kong. Han Yu’s exile site was in the composer’s homeland, linking their emotions across time. This composition blends musical styles from Chang’an and Chaozhou, using the dizi and orchestra to express longing for home and family, mirroring the deep connection between Hong Kong and Mainland China.

🎶 Pipa Solo – "Autumn Shadows in the Sunset"
An award-winning composition filled with Cantonese musical elements, this piece vividly portrays an autumn sunset in Guangzhou, where the sky is bathed in warm hues, the gentle night breeze fills the air, and the tree silhouettes dance in the evening glow.

🎶 Pipa Solo – "Crescent Dragon Blade"
A dynamic piece portraying the legendary General Guan Yu’s heroic battles, seen from the perspective of his Crescent Moon Dragon Blade. This composition is part of SHA JINGSHAN’s Three Kingdoms Pipa Suite, alongside Oath of the Peach Garden and Feather Fan and Silk Kerchief.

These works will all make their Malaysia debut in this concert.

Cultural Exchange & Performance Innovation
In recent years, Yang Weijie founded the "Guangdong Music Express", a Greater Bay Area ensemble promoting Cantonese music. With strong support from Hong Kong’s Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the group has successfully staged performances across multiple cities in the Greater Bay Area.
