About

Ever looked at the lush, multi-toned petals of hydrangeas and wished you could capture that timeless floral beauty yourself? Or perhaps you’ve always wanted to try your hand at botanicals in watercolours but didn't know where to start?

Step into a calm, creative afternoon and bring your favourite blooms to life at the Hydrangeas Watercolour Workshop-a foundational watercolour workshop designed specifically for absolute beginners.

What to Expect

In this relaxed, step-by-step session, we will demystify the fluid medium of watercolour. You don’t need any prior art experience, just your curiosity and a love for these vibrant, dreamy clusters!

We will guide you through the fundamental building blocks of watercolour painting before weaving those skills together to create your very own frame-ready floral piece.

What you will learn:

Water & Pigment Control: Master the delicate balance of paint and water for smooth, natural gradients and seamless washes without harsh edges.

Mixing Rich Tones: Discover how to mix rich, vibrant purples, soft pinks, and cool blue undertones without muddying your colours.

Capturing Floral Anatomy: Learn simple brush strokes to form soft petals, delicate layering, and dimensional depth.

Creating Soft Clusters: Master wet-on-wet blending techniques to achieve that signature lush, cloud-like hydrangea bloom effect.

By the end of the workshop, you will bring home your very own hand-painted A4 watercolour hydrangea portrait ready to frame or gift!

About the Instructor

Sharlene has been painting for over 20 years and teaching for more than a decade. She enjoys working with watercolour, oils, inks, and acrylics, exploring a wide range of subjects-especially animals, thanks to her natural affinity for them. Beyond beginner workshops, she also teaches weekly intermediate classes for students looking to deepen their skills.

With a portfolio that includes collaborations with renowned brands like Fendi, Christian Louboutin, Amex, Valiram, Estée Lauder, Pilot, MT Tape, Faber-Castell, and more, she brings both professional artistry and heartfelt passion to her work.

Based in KL, she lives with her chonky fur-child with four very short legs, whose character often inspires her art. Sharlene deeply enjoys meeting kindred souls through her workshops, which are calm, friendly, and beginner-welcoming-a space where everyone can relax, create, and connect.
