About
Step into the cosy world of a Japanese kissaten, a traditional Japanese coffee shop known for its nostalgic charm, classic café treats, and slow afternoons.
For this 4-hour gouache painting workshop, we’re bringing a little piece of that retro café magic to the painting table. We’ll be painting two Japanese café favourites: a refreshing melon cream soda topped with a scoop of ice cream, and fluffy Japanese pancakes that look almost too good to eat.

Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to spend a little more time with your paints, this workshop is a chance to slow down, explore the lovely opaque colours of gouache, and create your own little café-inspired paintings.

No need to worry about drawing everything from scratch. Your outlines will be pre-traced, and I’ll guide you through the painting process step by step, from colour mixing and layering to adding those little details that bring your paintings to life.
Come for the melon soda, stay for the fluffy pancakes, and leave with two paintings you can proudly call your own. Think of it as a little café date, except you get to make the art yourself.
