About

a durational work over 48 hours.

over two days, 6 cycles of 7.

over two days, work rest, work rest, work rest work.

over two days, watch and bear witness.

over two days, watch two-of-man attempt to unravel, disentangle, and find entanglement.

over two days, trying to reflect towards infinity or the singularity.

over two days, dismantling, seeking, seeking to dismantle – mimesis.

over two days, searching for the body of Echo,

over two days, finding and losing Narcissus and their a-reflection within the moving waters.

Presented by @klangriverfestival at @kongsiKL – “你看他! or Looking for Echo in the Moving Waters” – is a premier of new durational-experimental work directed, devised, and performed by Jit Yang Pasqual-Tung (@yitjang) of see-minus Co. (@seeminus.co), also featuring long-time collaborator and award winning performer-designer Liew Chee Heai.

LIEW CHEE HEAI

Chee Heai is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice includes photography, performance art, installation art, and short video.

In 2019, he made his directorial debut and performed in ‘Seni Tiga #033: Void in Void’. In 2022, he exhibited ‘My Island’, a site-specific installation, as well as directed and performed in ‘khakkhakkhak’ performance art. In 2024, he directed and performed in ‘I Thought We Had a Deal’ and ‘You Really Messed Up Everything’.

In 2023, he performed in ‘Sisyphus No. 9’ directed by Tung Jit Yang, and ‘Into the Symbiocene’ directed by Lim Sheng Hui, which was awarded Best Set And/Or Visual Design in Theatre category at BOH Cameronian Arts Awards 2024, and was nominated for Best innovation in Performance award at Stockholm Fringe festival (2024).

He performed in ‘Tidur Lambak’ directed by Taha Long at the International Theatre Platform, Jakarta in 2025. In the same year, he also acted in 'Air Mata di Kuala Lumpur', directed by Ridhwan Saidi.

JIT YANG PASQUAL-TUNG

Jit’s works are obsessed with the highs + lows of what it means to be in this modern world. His stages are filled to the brim, rough around the edges, and approaches the margins – with space for emptiness, for doubt, for what emerges from the in-between.

His work oscillates between the classics and the avant-garde, attempting to find short circuits between Shakespeare and Spolinian improvisation; Bausch, butoh, and Cage. His past works have ranged from collisions between the Theatre of the Oppressed and The Emperor’s New Clothes ; between Lars Von Trier’s Dogme-95 with Canadian playwright Kevin Kerr’s Unity (1918) ; between Malaysian politics, the durational, and fluxus.

His practice attempts to capture the sparks from these collisions, sparks that illuminate for reflection, for action, for fucking fun, for fun fucking. His next works will find him exploring Hamlet’s mirror up to nature, Ovid’s Narcissus and Echo, and the mitochondria within our cells.
