Painting With Limited Colours: Glow With Lines

Colour and light are often what draw our eyes to a beautiful painting or illustration. In this 4-hour workshop, you’ll learn to keep your sketches loose and simple while bringing out light and atmosphere through a combination of a limited colour palette and bright outlines.Whether you’re painting a cosy café scene or a snack you’ve just enjoyed, you’ll explore how to capture such everyday moments with a fresh, and vibrant approach.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN:

How to mix vibrant colours with a limited palette.

Bring out the glow of light with coloured lines. 

MATERIALS PROVIDED:

Tools are provided for use during the workshop. However, you may bring your own preferred tool. 

- Watercolor 

- Paint brushes

- A4 watercolor paper (300gsm)

- Coloured pencils

- White Posca/gel pen

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:

Jason Chan, also known as Park Land, is an animator who simply enjoys drawing and painting. He spends much of his time drawing in sketchbooks, often capturing the people and environments around him. He also enjoys drawing his own original characters, Miriah. As a freelance illustrator, Jason worked on two official companion books for the Hilda series: Hilda’s Book of Beasts and Spirits and Hilda’s World: A Guide to Trolberg, the Wilderness, and Beyond.
