Synopsis:

I want you to make my mother.” To understand the “true heart” of a mother who chose “elective death,” he resurrects her through AI technology.

I’ve got something important to tell you.” With these final words, Akiko suddenly passed away, revealing that she had actually chosen “elective death.”

Why had a mother who seemed happy desired to end her own life? Desperate to uncover his mother’s true intentions, Sakuya ventures into uncharted technological territory. He turns to VF (Virtual Figure), a technology that aggregates personal data from one’s life to create a “human” in a virtual space. Although he feels unease when Nozaki, the developer of VF, says, “I can create your mother even more real than the original,” Sakuya proceeds with the data collection necessary for creating the VF and contacts a woman named Miyoshi, who claims to have been his mother’s close friend. Thus, his “mother” is completed, and Sakuya begins to reclaim an ordinary life—able to meet his mother whenever he wears the VF goggles and now cohabiting with Miyoshi. However, the VF gradually begins to reveal another side of his mother that Sakuya had never known…
