In celebration of the 60th Diamond Jubilee of Tanjai Kamalaa Indira Dance School ( EST.1966), we proudly present KRISHNAYANAM – From Birth to Beyond, the latest addition to our signature Bharathanatyam dance theatre productions. 

For six decades, Tanjai Kamalaa Indira Dance School (TKI) has stood as one of Malaysia’s pioneering Bharathanatyam institutions, recognised by the Malaysia Book of Records as the Longest Operating Dance Training School in Malaysia. Renowned for producing large-scale thematic dance theatre productions, the school has captivated audiences for generations through artistic excellence, innovation, and powerful cultural storytelling. 

Following 26 acclaimed thematic productions, KRISHNAYANAM – From Birth to Beyond brings to life the extraordinary journey of Krishna — from His miraculous birth to His eternal legacy as the protector of Dharma, master strategist, compassionate friend, and divine teacher of mankind.

This mega production brings together a dedicated team of 150 performers and production crew, featuring artists ranging from just 6 months to 73 years of age. Joined by accomplished musicians, narrators, creative artists, and technical specialists, the production is a powerful celebration of Bharathanatyam, theatre, music, and spectacular visual storytelling.

Experience an unforgettable evening where love, courage, war and wisdom, unfold through award-winning artistic direction and choreography, magnificent costumes, compelling storytelling, spectacular visual artistry, immersive theatrical presentation, and an original musical score composed and recorded by distinguished composer and musicians from India.

The production features original artistic direction and choreography by “Nattuva Thilagam” Mrs. Indira Manikam, one of Malaysia’s foremost Bharathanatyam exponents and cultural leaders. A pioneer in Bharathanatyam dance theatre, she is widely regarded as the “Queen of Indian Classical Dance Drama” in Malaysia and is the recipient of numerous prestigious honours, including several Lifetime Achievement Awards and the Anugerah Tokoh Seni Budaya Negeri Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur 2023, the highest State Cultural Honour presented by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, Government of Malaysia.
