About

Spill the Ink! explores memory, power and the future of storytelling in Malaysia. Featuring the launch of new regional literary magazine Yellow, the republication of one of the earliest Malay novels, a poetry collection rooted in myth and feminine power, and a conversation on how digital platforms are reshaping reading culture — this is what literature looks like when it refuses to stand still.

Sessions by PEN Malaysia / Sesi oleh PEN MALAYSIA

Goddesses, Demons and She Heroes / Dewi, Raksasa dan Puspa Wirawati

This session celebrates the launch of Kali in Conversation, the debut poetry collection by Mahi Ramakrishnan, which draws on the symbolism of the goddess Kali to explore themes of power, rage, resistance and the complex inner worlds of women navigating violence, memory and survival. The launch will be followed by poetry readings and a panel discussion reflecting on myth, femininity and the many ways women’s voices continue to challenge silence and reclaim narrative space. Together, these programmes reflect PEN Malaysia’s ongoing commitment to protecting freedom of expression while creating platforms for literary voices that preserve cultural memory, interrogate power and expand the possibilities of storytelling.
