The Adil Johan Quintet or AJQ descends on to Brasserie Alma with their explorations of indie soul, jazz, rock and hip-hop, rooted to the daily encounters of our global-urban lives. Adil Johan leads the group on vocals and saxophone, performing original songs in English and Malay that resonate with positive vibes, contemplative lyrics and soulful grooves. Along with a diverse and talented lineup of collaborators, AJQ also delves into re-arranged covers (e.g. Tom Misch, Incubus, Mac Miller, SonaOne, Luqman Podolski) that appeal to a discerning cosmopolitan audience.
