About

Irama Pusaka - Akar Tradisi, Nadi Baharu is a grand musical gala that celebrates Malaysia’s rich and diverse musical heritage in one unforgettable evening.

At the heart of the concert is Orkestra Kuala Lumpur, DBKL’s own 70-member orchestra, known for its remarkable versatility  from classical masterpieces and popular favourites to contemporary video game soundtracks. The orchestra will be led by conductor Mohd Isa Ismail.

Sharing the stage in this truly Malaysian celebration are distinguished ensembles and master musicians from across the country. Gangsapura brings the resonant beauty of traditional Malay gamelan in a contemporary setting, while the Lee Rubber Chinese Orchestra presents the elegance and depth of Chinese traditional music. The programme also features master musicians EKAM Ensemble (Indian Music Ensemble), specialising in Indian classical traditions, alongside a music expert Leslie Eli (Sape' musician), who highlights the distinctive sounds and rhythms of Borneo.
