About
Lit Connect is an immersive literary workshop where readers become creators. Each session is guided by a featured writer who introduces a central theme — from identity and belonging to love, memory, or change. Participants then craft their own short story of up to 200 words using a vintage typewriter, embracing the joy of slow, intentional storytelling.
The workshop is designed for all — from curious beginners to seasoned writers — encouraging participants to express themselves freely without the pressure of perfection. The tactile experience of typing on paper, paired with reflective guidance, creates a rare blend of nostalgia and creativity.
Each session concludes with a peer-sharing circle, where participants read their stories aloud and exchange feedback in a warm, supportive environment. This fosters community, empathy, and appreciation for diverse voices and perspectives.
The 2025 edition of Lit Connect is led by Brigitte Rozario, a writer, editor, and publisher based in Selangor. Formerly a journalist with The Star for 23 years, Brigitte has also worked as a ghostwriter and copy editor for local publishing houses. In 2018, she founded the Junior Writers Programme, mentoring young storytellers whose works include Through the Window, What the Future Brings, and Caught in Culture.
With her wealth of experience, Brigitte brings warmth, professionalism, and passion — making Lit Connect a meaningful space to learn, create, and connect through the written word.
