About

Join Andrew Han from Pertubuhan Ekologi dan Iklim as he shares a deeply personal and eye-opening talk on Penang’s coastal fishermen —a community often overlooked, yet integral to the island’s cultural and ecological fabric.

As a social filmmaker and community organiser, Andrew has spent years documenting the lives, struggles, and traditional knowledge of these fishermen through film, photography, and grassroots engagement. His talk offers rare insight into their resilience, disappearing practices, and the urgent need to rethink development from the perspective of those most intimately tied to the land and sea.
