A family of four is stressed out due to the seemingly never-ending pandemic. Their bonds are breaking at the seams. The father, Hanif, a struggling writer is coping with the lack of inspiration. The mother, Leila, resorts to toxic positivity when her mother passes. Atilia struggles with the death of her beloved grandma until she spirals, meanwhile Haz is anxious and his anxiety is skyrocketing as every second ticks by. After a fight breaks off during their family video call, Hanif resorts to releasing his stress by playing a suspiciously old video game. With a simple utterance of a wish, he miraculously gets transported into Wonderland. A series of quests await and darkness lurks around him.

A groundbreaking journey to self-discovery and the healing of family ties.

About

An adaptation inspired by another fictional journey in Wonderland brought to you by Futterwacker Production. Down The Rabbithole: A Twisted Game is an online play intended for a general audience of all ages. This adventurous quest that brings light into a world full of darkness is definitely one to watch!

Preve
as Hanif & Traveller

Prethveraj, well known as Preve, is the Protagonist of this play. He is currently pursuing his Bachelor's degree in Communication at University Putra Malaysia (UPM). Preve is from Alor Setar, Kedah who enjoys acting because he strongly believes that it’s fun to be another person and bring life to a certain character. He used to say that it's good to not be "Preve" for a while and make everyone escape from their reality as well. He has also previously performed in high school dramas. Preve aspires to be a documentary filmmaker in the future.

Zaa
as Leila & Lady of White

Zaahira, also known as Zaa, was born and raised in the state of Selangor. She is a final-year student of University Putra Malaysia (UPM), majoring in Bachelor of Foreign Languages (German Language). Zaa enjoys acting because she believes it allows her to explore life and human emotions by allowing her to be someone or something other than her true self. Zaa has no acting experience, but she can make great Tik Tok videos. She is very excited to play as Leila as it is her first time performing in a play.

Naz
as Haz & Snowy Bunny

Nazrin is an IT student of Politeknik Balik Pulau, Penang who is currently interning at SK Convent, Pulau Tikus. He was born and raised in Penang, and this will be his first time performing in a play. Nazrin enjoys acting because it allows him to meet a wide range of new people with whom he can network with.

Die
as Atilia & The Nutty Hatter

Die is Dayana Nurina's nickname among her family and friends. She is a first-year student, pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in English Language and Linguistics at University Putra Malaysia (UPM). Die enjoys acting because it brings out the best in her and allows her to grow as a person. She has experience in acting in a school play before. Her ultimate life goal is to be someone who can help others and to be able to stand alone in the future.

YD
as Queen of Darkness

Yasmin Diyana, also known as YD, is the play's antagonist. She was born and raised in Johor Bahru. YD is currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in TESL at Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI). She has been performing on stage since 16 years old. YD loves acting because the ability to touch people’s feelings gives her great joy and priceless satisfaction.

Afiq
as Riddly Cat

Afiq is an alumni of Bachelor of Arts in English Language at University Putra Malaysia (UPM). He has been in 9 previous productions and ‘Down the Rabbit Hole’ is his 10th. Other than stage acting, he has few acting experiences on small screen as well as in voice acting. Afiq stays in Shah Alam and he truly loves acting because he believes that it is one way for him to express his thoughts and emotions through various characters. Besides, Afiq is still active in the arts; writing and producing music, posting dance and song covers on his Instagram. He lives to perform and will take any chance to showcase his skills and talents. Afiq wishes to have a career in music and acting which enables him to make a living by doing something creative.

About the Production

Futterwackers' Production is a group of English Literature students from Universiti Putra Malaysia taking the course BBL4401 Play Production and Drama Techniques as one of the requirements to fulfill their Bachelor's degree. This time around, Futterwackers' Production is staging a play entitled Down The Rabbithole: A Twisted Game consisting of casts from various background for a more diverse and unique fit for the play.
