The Punan Ba community in Belaga Sarawak defended their ancestral land against logging companies and plantations obtained licenses to conduct activities on the land. This form of practice has gone on for a long time where the local indigenous peoples did not give their consent, and were never properly compensated. Is this in fact a new form of colonialism?

Empangan Nenggiri: Suara Bantahan Orang Asli (2022)

The Nenggiri Dam is to be built on Orang Asli customary land in Gua Musang in Kelantan State, Malaysia. The local government and also the National Electric Company (TNB) claimed that the majority of the communities had agreed to the dam construction and to be relocated.
