About The Festival
Borneo Jazz Festival returns to Miri on 4–5 December 2026 for its 20th edition, bringing together an exciting mix of international, regional and Malaysian jazz talents at Pullman Miri Waterfront.
The festival features evening concerts by performers from across the world, alongside daytime experiences that celebrate music, culture and creativity. Beyond the main concert, visitors can also enjoy the free-entry Borneo Jazz Festival Village, featuring food and beverage offerings, arts and crafts, retail booths, live performances and the Borneo Pavilion, creating a lively festival atmosphere in the heart of Miri.

The theme “Beyond Jazz” reflects the festival’s evolution beyond the concert stage.
Borneo Jazz 2026 brings together music, culture, community and destination, combining the timeless appeal of jazz with the warmth and character of Borneo. Through the Festival Village, Borneo Pavilion and wider activities around Miri Waterfront, the festival creates opportunities for local businesses, artisans, performers and the tourism ecosystem to be part of the experience.
Set in the heart of Miri, Beyond Jazz also encourages visitors to experience more of the city and northern Sarawak, making the festival not just a celebration of music, but a celebration of people, place and Bornean hospitality.

Welcome to the 20th Edition of Borneo Jazz! To make your festival experience as smooth and enjoyable as possible, please read the following FAQ before purchasing your ticket and before arriving at the festival.
THE FESTIVAL
1.When and where is Borneo Jazz 2026?
Borneo Jazz 2026 takes place on: 4 & 5 December 2026 Pullman Miri Waterfront, Miri, Sarawak The festival features two distinct experiences — the free outdoor Festival Village during the day and the ticketed indoor Borneo Jazz Live Concert in the evening.
2. Is the Festival Village free?
YES! The Festival Village is FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC but all visitors must register online before entry. The outdoor Festival Village operates from: 10.00am – 10.00pm | 4 & 5 December Visitors can enjoy food and beverages, vendors, cultural and lifestyle activities, community programmes, merchandise, entertainment and other festival experiences as well as be in the running for lucky draws. 3. Do I need a ticket to watch the jazz concert? YES. The main Borneo Jazz Live Concert is an indoor, ticketed event. Concert hours: 7.00pm – 12.00 midnight
A valid ticket is required to enter the indoor concert venue.
4. Can I visit the Festival Village without a concert ticket?
Absolutely! The Festival Village is free and open to everyone but all visitors must register online before entry. No concert ticket is required.
5. If I have a concert ticket, can I also visit the Festival Village?
Yes However you will be required to register prior to entry at the Village as the concert area and Festival Village are two separate zones.
TICKETS
6. Are tickets transferable?
Yes. Tickets are transferable BEFORE registration. If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your ticket to another person, subject to the applicable ticketing procedures. However, once the ticket has been registered and a wristband has been issued, the wristband is assigned to that attendee and cannot be transferred.
7. Are tickets refundable?
No. All ticket sales are FINAL and NON-REFUNDABLE. Tickets cannot be refunded due to a change of mind, personal circumstances, travel arrangements or inability to attend. Refunds will only be considered where required by applicable law or where specifically announced by the organiser.
8. Can I buy a ticket from someone else?
No. Resale of tickets is strictly prohibited. Tickets should be purchased through the official ticketing channels. The Organiser cannot guarantee the validity of tickets obtained through unauthorised sellers.
9. Do I need to print my ticket?
No. Borneo Jazz Festival uses digital tickets. You must present your valid digital ticket/QR code on your mobile device for verification at registration.
10. What happens when I arrive at the concert?
The process is simple:
1. Present your digital ticket/QR code.
2. Your ticket will be scanned and verified.
3. You will receive your official Borneo Jazz wristband.
4. Enter the concert venue and enjoy the show.
5. Keep your wristband securely on for the duration of the event.
11. Can I use my digital ticket more than once?
Your digital ticket/QR code is used for registration and verification upon entry. Once your ticket has been successfully registered, your wristband becomes your proof of admission for re-entry. Do not share your QR code with another person after registration.
WRISTBANDS & RE-ENTRY
12. Can I leave and re-enter the concert venue?
YES. Re-entry is permitted. After your ticket has been verified at registration, you will receive an official Borneo Jazz Festival wristband. The wristband allows you to exit and re-enter the ticketed concert area during the event.
13. Are wristbands transferable?
NO. Wristbands are strictly NON-TRANSFERABLE. Each wristband is issued to the registered ticket holder.
You must not give, sell, exchange or transfer your wristband to another person.
14. Can I transfer my ticket after I receive my wristband?
No. Ticket transfers must be completed before registration and wristband issuance. Once a ticket has been registered and a wristband issued, the wristband is assigned to that attendee and cannot be transferred.
15. Can I remove my wristband?
No. Please keep your wristband securely worn throughout the event. Do not remove, tamper with, cut, damage or attempt to alter your wristband.
16. What if I lose or damage my wristband?
Please immediately approach the festival customer service or registration counter. Replacement of a lost, damaged or removed wristband will be subject to ticket verification and the organiser’s discretion.
ENTRY & SECURITY
17. Will bags be searched?
YES. All bags and personal belongings may be subject to security inspection before entry. Security personnel may search bags and belongings for dangerous, prohibited or restricted items.
18. Why are bags searched?
|Security checks are conducted to help maintain a safe and secure environment for all festival-goers, artists, staff and crew. By entering the festival or concert areas, attendees agree to comply with reasonable security checks.
19. What happens if I bring a prohibited item?
Prohibited items will NOT be permitted inside the festival or concert areas. Security personnel may require the item to be surrendered or removed from the venue. The organiser will not be responsible for storing prohibited items.

20. What items are NOT allowed inside the festival?
For everyone’s safety, the following items are STRICTLY PROHIBITED:
● Weapons of any kind
● Firearms and ammunition
● Replica firearms or imitation weapons
● Knives, daggers, swords and other bladed weapons
● Explosives
● Fireworks, firecrackers and pyrotechnics
● Bombs or explosive devices
● Flammable liquids, fuels or materials
● Dangerous chemicals or toxic substances
● Pepper spray, mace or chemical self-defence sprays
● Tasers, stun guns or similar electrical weapons
● Items intended or capable of causing injury
● Illegal drugs or controlled substances
● Glass bottles and potentially dangerous glass containers
● Laser pointers and high-powered lasers
● Drones or unmanned aerial vehicles without prior written approval
● Professional recording or broadcasting equipment without accreditation
● Professional audio recording equipment without accreditation
● Tripods, monopods or large camera support equipment without approval
● Large umbrellas or objects that may obstruct views or create a safety hazard
● Large poles, sticks or extended objects
● Portable speakers or large sound systems
● Megaphones or unauthorised amplification equipment
● Outside alcoholic beverages
● Outside food and beverages where prohibited by the venue
● Unauthorised commercial or promotional materials
● Unauthorised banners, signs or advertising materials
● Offensive, illegal or hazardous materials
● Any other item deemed dangerous, inappropriate or unsuitable by the organiser or security personnel
The organiser reserves the right to prohibit any item that may pose a safety, security or operational risk, even if the item is not specifically listed above.
DO’S
21. What should I do when attending Borneo Jazz?
DO:
● Bring your valid digital ticket and QR code.
● Keep your mobile phone sufficiently charged.
● Arrive early for the evening concert.
● Wear your wristband at all times after registration.
● Keep your personal belongings secure.
● Follow instructions from security personnel, ushers and festival staff.
● Respect fellow festival-goers, artists, staff and venue personnel.
● Dispose of rubbish in designated bins.
● Respect the venue and festival facilities.
● Keep emergency exits and access routes clear.
● Report suspicious behaviour or safety concerns to festival staff.
● Supervise children and accompanying minors.
● Check the official Borneo Jazz channels for programme and schedule updates.

22. What should I NOT do at Borneo Jazz?
DON’T:
● Bring prohibited or dangerous items into the venue.
● Bring weapons or illegal substances.
● Attempt to bypass security checks.
● Enter using an invalid, duplicate or previously used ticket.
● Share or transfer your wristband.
● Remove, damage or tamper with your wristband.

Borneo Jazz offers three ticket categories for the indoor Live Concert:

YOUNG ADULT TICKETS
Who qualifies for a Young Adult Ticket?
Young Adult Tickets are available for:
- Students with a valid Student ID/Card; and
- Young people aged 18 and below, subject to age verification.
Are Young Adult Tickets eligible for the 20% bundle discount?
No. Young Adult Tickets are NOT eligible for the 20% bundle discount.
The 20% bundle discount applies only to eligible VIP and Standing ticket categories, subject to the minimum of 2 tickets per category.
What do I need to bring?
- Students must present a valid Student ID/Card at registration.
- Attendees aged 18 and below may be required to present a valid identification document for age verification.
What happens if I cannot prove my eligibility?
If you are unable to provide valid proof of eligibility, the organiser may require you to pay the applicable difference in ticket price before admission or may refuse entry.
Can I transfer my Young Adult Ticket?
A Young Adult Ticket may only be transferred to another person who meets the Young Adult eligibility requirements. The recipient must provide the required Student ID or proof of age at registration.
Young Adult Tickets are non-refundable.
Is there a discount when buying multiple tickets?
Yes. Enjoy 20% OFF when purchasing multiple tickets.
The discount can apply when purchasing for multiple people for the same show or when one person purchases tickets for multiple shows, subject to the applicable ticket bundle.

Can I combine VIP and Standing tickets to reach the minimum of 2?
No.
The minimum of 2 tickets must be met separately within each ticket category.
For example:
1 VIP + 1 Standing = No discount

2 VIP + 3 Standing = 20% OFF both categories

An opportunity to meet selected Borneo Jazz artists and performers.
VIP Seating Enjoy the concert from the designated VIP seating area inside the main concert hall.
What time should VIP guests arrive?
VIP guests are encouraged to arrive from 5.30pm onwards to enjoy the pre-show cocktail before proceeding to the main concert hall.
Is the VIP experience available on both nights?
Yes. VIP tickets are available per show, with the VIP experience applicable to the specific show/date purchased.
● Climb onto stages, barriers, structures or restricted areas.
● Enter backstage or staff-only areas without authorisation.
● Interfere with performers, artists, staff or equipment.
● Block emergency exits, walkways or access routes.
● Engage in fighting, threatening behaviour, harassment or disruptive conduct.
● Damage venue or festival property.
● Bring unauthorised commercial, promotional or political materials.
● Bring professional recording equipment without approval.
● Operate drones without approval.
● Bring outside alcohol into the venue.
● Bring any item deemed unsafe or inappropriate by security personnel.
PHOTOGRAPHY & RECORDING
23. Can I take photographs and videos?
Personal photography and short videos using mobile phones are generally permitted, provided they do not interfere with performers, other guests or festival operations. Professional photography, audio recording, video recording, livestreaming or commercial content production requires prior approval or accreditation.
24. Can I livestream the concert? Unauthorised livestreaming or broadcasting of the concert is not permitted.
FOOD, DRINKS & ALCOHOL
25. Will there be food and drinks?
Yes. The Festival Village will feature a variety of food and beverage vendors for visitors to enjoy throughout the day.
26. Can I bring outside food and drinks?
Outside food and beverages may not be permitted in designated areas. Please follow venue and festival instructions.
27. Can I bring my own alcohol?
No. Outside alcoholic beverages are not permitted. Where alcohol is available at the festival, consumption will be restricted to designated areas and subject to venue regulations and applicable Malaysian law. Sale of alcohol to underage persons is strictly prohibited. PROGRAMME & ARTISTS
28. Can the artist lineup or programme change?
Yes. Artist appearances, schedules and programme details may be subject to change due to circumstances beyond the organiser’s control.
29. Where can I find the latest programme information?
Follow the official Borneo Jazz channels for artist announcements, performance schedules, Festival Village activities, venue information and other updates.
IMPORTANT NOTICE PURCHASE OF A TICKET CONSTITUTES ACCEPTANCE OF THE FESTIVAL’S TERMS AND CONDITIONS, ENTRY REQUIREMENTS AND SECURITY PROCEDURES.
The organiser reserves the right to:
● Refuse entry where a ticket is invalid or cannot be verified;
● Conduct reasonable security and bag searches;
● Refuse entry to persons carrying prohibited items;
● Remove persons who breach festival rules or venue regulations;
● Amend operational procedures where necessary for safety, security or event management. Festival attendees are responsible for their own personal belongings.
