About
Textile artist Natalia Tan @natalia_weaves invites participants to transform unwanted fabric scraps into colourful collages paying tribute to the Klang River.
Bring your own fabric scraps, scissors and fabric glue, and create a textile collage that carries your chosen colours, textures and ideas.
As individual collages are stitched together into a single collective artwork, each piece becomes part of a larger whole - a living record of what a community can make when we choose to contribute, connect and transform rather than discard.
No prior experience is needed. Just bring some unwanted fabric, scissors, and fabric glue, and a willingness to turn waste into wonder 💚
All ages are welcome - children under 12 are to be supervised by parents at all times. Relaxed session - feel free to arrive and leave anytime within the session timing.
about natalia tan
Natalia Tan is a Singaporean weaver, artist, and creative producer whose practice asks a single, persistent question: what happens when audiences stop watching and start co-creating?
She builds participatory, socially engaged works and spaces that centre circularity, sensory play, and shared making. Her work spans theatre, installation, and participatory art across venues including The Esplanade, the Singapore Art Museum, and Children's Museum Singapore. She was an Artist in Residence at The Godown KL in 2024, and represented Singapore as a Weaving Practitioner at the 2025 ASEAN meetings in Kuala Lumpur.
As a fixture in Singapore's sustainability scene and co-founder of the Singapore Eco Arts Festival, Natalia advocates for circular and regenerative futures through cultural engagement – and how art remains one of the most powerful arguments for a different way of living.
