IMMERSIO 2026

Immersio derived from the word Immerse and i.o ( technical term for input & output ). Immersion held as a platform for young emerging digital & new media artist to showcase their work in collaboration with Filamen as technical curator & support. The format of the exhibition & also performance to create an awareness about digital & new media art amongst the festival goers. The first three Immersio was held at Urbanscapes and now it is time for it to expand its wing to different platform. 

IMMERSIO is a biennial new media art festival established by Filamen in 2017, dedicated to showcasing immersive, interactive, and technology-driven artistic practices from Malaysia and Southeast Asia. The festival serves as a platform for artists, collectives, galleries, and creative practitioners to present experimental works that explore the intersection of art, technology, culture, and society.

Through exhibitions, installations, projection mapping, audiovisual performances, workshops, artist talks, and community programmes, IMMERSIO encourages audiences to experience art beyond traditional gallery formats. It creates opportunities for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and experimentation while supporting the growth of the region's new media art ecosystem.

More than an exhibition, IMMERSIO is a space where emerging and established practitioners come together to imagine new possibilities for contemporary culture. By connecting artists, communities, and audiences, the festival continues to foster dialogue around digital culture and inspire the future of immersive art in Southeast Asia.
