About the Facilitator
Malaysian-born, Singapore-based playwright & producer and co-founder of FSKi Works, Ian Skatu has had a prolific career in events and performing arts.
Ian started working, supervising, managing, and organising events since he was in college. He has worked with brands such as Shell, Hamodal, AIA, AIG, Yamaha Music, Proton, and more.
He also found much of his footing as a festival organiser with festivals such as Tres Fest, Christmas with a Mission, MY Music Fest @ Sunway Surf Beach. He's also worked backstage for events such as Urbanscapes and Good Vibes Festival.
In theatre, Ian Skatu started as a pianist months later stepped into a producer role. With transferable skills from his event days, together with the team, he won Best Innovation in Musical Theatre at the 17th BOH Cameronian Arts Awards for producing a site-specific musical in a café – Mahsuri (And Other Peculiar Tales).
Since then, Ian has produced multiple successful shows such as Silk & Strings: The Truth About Bullying, The Human Exhibit: Mentalhealth (THEM), The Human Exhibit: Sex&Gender (THESE), and most recently – POLY. He has also taken multiple touring shows such as Silk & Strings, THEM, In A Different Light, and more.
Ian has also had an extensive life in multiple creative agencies as a strategist & brand consultant – earning him the right as a marketeer, brand custodian, and a writer. He currently works for a Singaporean GLC as a Head of Branding & Creative.
