Kamal Chopra is a Lawyer by qualification and now a Multi Award Winning International Singer and Recording Artiste. 
She is married to Dr Sunil Chopra, a Consultant Radiologist and Nuclear Medicine Physician practicing in a Private Hospital in Penang. They have 3 sons.
Kamal Chopra, born in Selangor and now based in Penang, Malaysia, stands as a remarkable figure in the world of music, community service, and cultural advocacy. With a career adorned with prestigious accolades and a commitment to fostering the arts, Kamal’s journey is a testament to her talent, determination, and deep connection to her heritage.She was recently in July, 2025 awarded with the prestigious State Award, the DARJAH JOHAN NEGERI (D.J.N) by the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Pulau Pinang, Governor of Penang, TYT Tun Dato’ Seri Utama Ramli Ngah Talib. She was awarded a "Certificate of Appreciation” by YB Yeoh Soon Hin, Penang State EXCO for Tourism, Arts, Culture and Heritage  (PETACH) in 2019 and again by Penang Deputy Chief Minister II YB Jagdeep Singh Deo in 2025.Kamal Chopra is the First and only Asian to win "The Best International Artiste" Award at the UK Bhangra Awards in Birmingham, UK in 2019 and again in 2022. These awards highlight her significant contributions to the Bhangra genre, where she has successfully blended traditional Punjabi music with contemporary sounds, creating a vibrant and engaging musical experience for her listeners.She is also the First and only Malaysian to be awarded "The Most Outstanding International Singer /Performer And Ambassador For Charity 2023" Award by the World Class Excellence Japan Awards 2023 (WCEJA) at Fukuoka City, JAPAN.She emerged 2nd Runner -up in the Singing Category of The 3iii International Indian Icon 2020 Season -IV Global Talent Competition.She was awarded a "Certificate of Achievement Award” by the India Dynamic Awards 2022 organised by Dark Rose in association with Sutra Events held in 2022 in Delhi, India.She has been recognised as one of the MALAYSIAN INDIAN WOMEN ICONS in Malaysia by the Malaysian Organization for Development of indian Women in Career, Entrepreneurs and Professionals (MiWEPS).Kamal Chopra has been invited often to perform live on various Local and International Stages such as in Australia, India, UK and Japan such as The Asian Dance Festival 2022 in Birmingham, UK,  Charity Concert and Red Carpet Awards Ceremony  2023 at Fukuoka City, Japan and Luton Desi Fest 2024 in Luton, UK. Her unique performances, featuring songs in Hindi, Punjabi, English, Malay, Spanish, Tamil, and Chinese and in numerous genres like Pop, Rock, R & B, Jazz, Bhangra etc have not only showcased her vocal prowess but also her ability to connect with diverse audiences.Kamal believes that her continuous hard work and tireless efforts in both the studio and live performances played a pivotal role in earning these recognitions.Kamal continues to push the boundaries of her musical expression as the Lead Singer of a 6 piece Live Rock Band called Vintage Rising, which is known for its energetic performances and dynamic sound and has become a staple in the Malaysian English Rock scene.She has been featured in International Newspapers and Magazines and has been interviewed on various International TV and RADIO Shows in countries like US, UK, Canada, India, and JapanApart from live performances, she is also a Recording Artiste and is listed as a PLAYBACK SINGER in the INDIA FILM DIRECTORY. She recently Released an original Duet called CHANDNI with Bollywood Singing legend KUMAR SANU in Mumbai, India.The song was produced by her husband Dr. Sunil Chopra from Malaysia, composed by Arvinder Raina and Mridul and was released by YNR Originals & Shahab Allahabadi in August, 2024. It has received  huge media coverage and public following worldwide, with more than 4 million views on YouTube.She has released several other Original Songs, namely Jhanjhran, Prabh Mangna and Tu Durga Tu Mahakali with well renowned Composer and Music Director Arvinder Raina and other original songs such as Khwaab and Shadaa in collaboration with Music Producers in India and the UK and has several  cover songs on her YouTube Channel  "Kamal Chopra Productions". Beyond her achievements in music, Kamal Chopra is deeply invested in community development and cultural advocacy. She serves as a Panel Member for Youth with Rhythm under the Penang Youth Development Corporation (PYDC), which plays a crucial role in mentoring young artists and promoting the importance of arts in youth development.She is a Member of the Penang Arts Council(PAC) which aims to promote and preserve the arts within the region, supporting local artists and ensuring that the rich cultural heritage of Penang continues to thrive.She has been involved in various charitable/fundraising events, using her platform to raise funds and support for causes close to her heart such as in aid of various Gurdwara's in Penang,  Official State and Community Events, Cultural and Religious Organisations and also for initiatives that aim to raise awareness of diseases such as Breast Cancer.Beginning initially as a hobby, her passion for singing slowly transformed into a serious pursuit with the continuous support and encouragement from her husband who she claims is the driving force behind her success and her greatest motivator. He has been her pillar of strength, standing by her through all the challenges to fulfil this dream together.
Her children have also been a source of inspiration and motivation throughout her musical journey.
She is currently working on releasing more original songs in collaboration with Music Producers in India and the UK and her future plan is to work towards building a name for herself Internationally.
